Jackson Corner It's amazing the short memories people have. 3 years ago BM came in we were 2nd from bottom of the Chamionship lost 4-1 to Plymouth were are they now? Finished a credible 9th have reached two FA cup qauter finals. Wins at Anfield and Goodison. 5th place a trip to Wembley in the play off final, and a league title. All this despite having to sell his best players every season. And now ten games in to the season he is a useles manager who should be sacked....... :?

Regardless of all of his past achievements at lower levels, that indeed could be the case. He may not be up to managing in the PL. As each game goes by, it is looking more and more like that might be the case.

It has absolutely sod all to do with short memories and everything to do with the present, the PL and his current performance at that level.

If we had say... 11pts after these first ten games, we would be in about 14th place, and this thread simply wouldn't exist.

Had Torres' goal and Ba's second both been correctly disallowed, that is most probably be the position we would find ourselves in, Guthrie or no fcuking Guthrie.

Merely pointing out that if we were in 14th, there wouldn't be a single fan calling for McDermott's sacking, and it's through no fault of the manager that we're not 14th.

Brian said after the game "We don't do enough with the ball"

That's astonishing when he dropped Danny Guthrie, our only creative midfielder, for passing the ball too much and not being direct enough.

Also Leigertwood is by far and away the worst holding midfielder in the Premier League. He was terrible today, and he's been poor in the majority of games this season too. Glossed over by a couple of decent goals recently, and one or two OK performances, but the bloke is a liability and all too often clumsy.

Get Karacan in when fit and partner him with Guthrie. One def.mid and one creative. Not two defensive minded midfielders who offer bollock all going forwards!

I just find it so frustrating that we have someone that creates space with ease, and can spread the ball about with confidence is dropped and frozen out, just for passing too much; and now we hear the manager tell us we don't do enough with the ball.

Evidently.

Hence why we are still in the relegation zone and still winless.

LoyalRoyalFan So neither Tabb or Leigertwood offer anything going forward.

.

Nor does f#cking Guthrie. He sits far too deep to offer anything going forward. And he offers little defensively, so don't get you point.

This Guthrie love fest is a bit embarassing

Fwiw, Tabb got in and around the box loads today. Legs was f#cking dirge though
