SIGNED - Daniel Carriço
The suit who sits next to us occasionally has a bit of gossip, and to his credit, he's been spot on with various players coming and going, as well gossip from within the club. He said we were close to a deal for this guy but were aware of strong interest from another Premiership club and a couple of French clubs and we wanted to tie it up early. Sunzo is also in advanced talks but it had dragged on a bit so we're unsure where we are with it. Two decent players if we get them, but we still need that missing creativity!

Record says the 24 year-old has decided against renewing his deal and will leave Sporting when he comes off contract in June.
The young Portuguese has been a long-term target for Manchester City and Manchester United since first breaking through at Sporting.
Both Manchester clubs have had formal partnerships with Sporting in the recent past.

Just did a quick search on him, Chelsea and Man City were rumoured to be interested in him 18 months ago.

Surely if he signed a however-many-year deal in January however many years ago that said deal would expire this January?

I've heard that he's out of contract in January. Can't remember where that info came from though.
