2-2. Pretty football punctuated by lapses in concentration at the back. Textbook.

0-2.

Admirable persistance with the passing style but still not totally grasped by everyone. ALF leading the line on his own, us looking pretty toothless. Overall a decent performance but Ipswich punishing a couple of mis-placed passes having patiently waited for their chances.

I don't think I've quite shaken off the pessimism that last season has beaten into me. I REALLY want to be wrong.

Reading 6 - 1 Ipswich

We've been lulled into false pessimism and get a flier......ALF 3, Pog 3, Tabb

Brain Traysers sorry to be a dick but plymouth was 2008. But yes, 19k+ for the first home game after relegation from the prem suggests it could be pushing 20k this time round

No offence taken. I may have been a bit sloppy on the dates.

Heart says Reading 1-0 Ipswich

Drenthe scores 88th minute wonder winner to cue mass celebrations and a new hero..

Head says Ipswich equalise 1 minute later... to set up silence in the ground, followed by mass bemoaning of POG fon the way out for not being mobile on the pitch or sorting out the Egyptian crises before the start of the season...

2 - 0 to Reading. Both in second half after a tight 1st, Hal and ALF.

Usual Championship start with a home defeat before getting going, 2-0 Ipswich

The main thing I am looking for is how wide our wingers are, the positioning of the CAM (assuming it will be McAnuff) and the involvement of Le Fondre.

If there is a massive gap between Le Fondre and Karacan/Williams/Guther I will be pissed off.

Those 3 behind Le Fondre need to play closer together. Gunter/Bridge should be providing a lot of width.

I might buy a programme.

I got an email about how it's been redesigned and improved, yet is still just 3 quid!

Exceptional.

0-1.

MeLOLtdown.

Agreed. We looked inept against Swansea because ALG was isolated and and supported by a very poor HRK in the first half. If only we could find another Gylfi in the hole between midfield and front I genuinely think we would be a force to be reckoned with. Until NA gets a forward that he has signed and plays to his style rather than BmD hand me downs we are going to struggle this year.

We haven't put the ball in the net at home since Feb 2nd. So 4-0 then.

My view too.

Platitudes from Adkins, everyone else saying we desperately need a striker.

Reading 1-2 Ipswich

Stuttering start to Reading's season for me, but will finish strongly.
