That's surely a comedy quote? It's built next to a university campus. All you can see from the A27 is the stadium and the uni buildings, so why would you make such an arse of the design and have no decent sized stand behind the goal in the North end, but an enormous stand completely out of keeping with a ground with a 32,000 capacity. Very strange

Winchester Royal From my knowledge, it was either build it like that or carry on playing at Withdean.

Okay, some facts. If you look at the map - or better still, go and see it for yourself - you'll notice that Village Way marks a very sharp boundary between modern development (ugly Uni buildings, sleek stadium) and open, rolling downland. On Saturday you could see a flock of sheep grazing just a couple of hundred metres up from the Amex. From the A27, you'd of course see none of this.3pointsBrightonEye That's because, being built in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Stand sizes? The West Stand was only made possible - and permissible - by excavating four storeys down into the chalk. The North and South ends had to be shallower because of the fall of the original landform down towards the railway. It really wasn't just thrown together, you know!
And after a 14 year wait with no proper ground, Albion fans these days are as happy as a pig in the proverbial!

Mr Angry BHA are currently one of the better examples of an English professional football club, and for that they should be applauded.

SHORT AND CURLY I actually enjoy going to Brighton away. Much better than dumps like loftus Road
The ground and facilities are very good and despite what is mentioned here I have found the rail service to Brighton /Lewes excellent. (Yesterday we queued and waited about 10 mins for a train to Lewes) Takes me a lot longer to get away from the Madstad.
I would also add that BHA fans on the whole are the same sort of family fan base that we have. In the pub before hand and after on the train they are all chatty and not in the slightest bit arsey.
The only down side yesterday was the £32 ticket price.
I look forward to going back next season (Lets face it neither of us are going anywhere fast)
I will beat Leeds on Tuesday and I doubt I will be making the same comments.

winchester_royalblueroyals3points ALF - 5- did nothing except get Greer sent off. Made a meal of the 2nd challenge and stayed down while ref booked him. Not sure he had a single chance, though our midfield have problems seeing his runs between the centre halves and full backs
So why is Adkins telling them to launch balls into the box from wide. He's not going to win many header, is he?
Actually he had a free header from about 6 yards out early in the second half that he should have buried. Very much like the one he missed in the FA cup game.
There wasn't as much launching in the box as last week. We were clearly trying to work it into the box more, and with Drenthe's subtlety on the ball we actually did it quite well. Had enough chances to win the game.
