With the obvious disadvantage of one of the largest wage budgets in the division and injuries, which none of our rivals have suffered from at any stage of course, what Adkins has achieved in keeping us in the top 7 is nothing sort of astonishing. In fact, at the last home game I bought a bottle of water at half time.....by the time I got back to my seat it had turned into a glass of wine.

Somebody from Spain, Italy or South America who doesn't speak English-then we wouldn't have to listen to the claptrap that we have had from Mr Overpositive.

Floyd - what exactly has Adkins been able to do in the market? With that same group of players bar Williams & Drenthe (I discount Bridge because he hasn't really played all season) McDermott didn't exactly set the word alight did he? 25 points last season wasn't it? (Yes I know it was PL). And he didn't have anywhere near the injury woes we've faced this season.

One can only assume that we spunked our load on Drenthe & nothing was left over. Hence not even being able to give Baird a 6 month deal FFS.

All for a bit of debate, but lets be fair about it. No fcuking way was Adkins anything to do with bringing in that useless prick Drenthe. IMO he has had no say whatsoever on transfers.

Royalcop The ownership definitely needs clarifying but that shouldn't excuse some of the lifeless performances we've seen this season. If we did have clear leadership within the club Adkins would have gone weeks ago in favour of a motivator (e.g. Holloway, Colin) that could have galvanised the group into a charge for the play-offs and beyond.

I would have McDermott back like a shot - knows the club inside and out and a great motivator. Whether he would come back is another thing. Failing that Eddie Howe from Bournemouth is definitely destined for greater things though might see us as a sideways step.

+1 a million times.

Anyone would think this tactical pygmy was our first manager to be denied the funding he would like and, stating the blindingly obvious to anyone whose head is not stuck 3 miles up Adkins backside, he's only got most of what he has at his disposal thanks to a huge top flight windfall secured by his predecessor :|

Most of us had issues with at least one of Pardew, Coppell and McDermott but all of them had to get down and grovel in the bargain basement for some footballing nuggets and were regularly told the well had run dry, yet all of them enjoyed substantial success at this level and regularly got the better of clubs with far greater recources than our own.

I tuned in Radio 5 this afternoon and it's a very long time since I've listened to such a one sided match. We can't defend and rarely bother attacking so even bringing on our top scorer for the last few minutes seemed utterly pointless :|

We have yet to take a single step in the right direction since this guy was hired and rather than, laughingly, suggesting that Adkins deserves a chance with more funding, I think this squad deserves a chance with a new manager..........................just because they all earn shedloads doesn't mean they are the ones to blame...........................it's the tactical pygmy who dictates how we play and it clearly sucks.

I love this club and will renew my season ticket but I've watched my last game until Adkin's has left and, judging by the thousands of empty seats on the 3 visits I've made in this godforsaken campaign along with highly unrealistic attendance figures, I will be far from alone.

Leeds have had many lifeless performances this season. McDermott has attributed them to the ownership situation.

Libertine NA with a clear-out of players whose skill set only allows the team to play hoofball. This squad needs to be rebuilt to one that can string a few passes together and get more than 2 shots on target per game. The current players are not up to playing a game of football like that...

For a weed head Septic you talk a lot of sense..... :P

In reality I'm happy with Adkins but I'd like Eddie Howe as manager given the choice.

Ironically Nigel would get a lot of respect from the fans & get a few back on side if he just said "I've had enough of these substandard performances and if the players don't get their act together they can look for new clubs"....and then proceed to put about 6 of the youth team in on Tuesday night.

Do it Nige I dare you. None of us give a fcuk any more. We are well past believing we can get promoted.

Even if we got dicked 0-8 it would send a clear message he will not tolerate these spineless inept performances any more. And then hopefully lots of them will leave.

We can but hope.......

Hmmm....in reality he is flavour of the month at the moment though isn't he? Only really done it at Bournemouth & no evidence to suggest he can cut it elsewhere....see Burnley who after sacking him have gained promotion.

What worries me, we talk about a mass clear out, but can't see it happening.

Clubs won't want them at the wages they will demand, we can't get rid, as they have contracts.

It's a lovely idea but not as easy as people are suggesting or hoping for.

The club IMO will be able to get rid of all of them bar Drenthe. Even if it means we end up doing a Man City & funding a % of their wages until their contract runs out. Paying less is better than paying it all.

Apologies I thought they had booted him. I don't think they were that bothered he left though as he wasn't doing very well.

It's not his style though is it. That's the sort of thing a bluster merchant like Di Canio would come out with, not the PMA style Adkins. That interview from today is likely to be as critical as he'll get in public.

I'd also seriously question how likely anyone would be in taking Pog. He's failed in the PL other than 6 games for Fulham and he's failed in the Championship. How many goals has he got? 11 from 30+ starts. It's pretty poor for someone who's played European Football and is almost certainly one of the top earners in the division. Yeah, he works hard, but he produces little to entice someone to want him. Even for oxf*rd all.

Actions speak louder than words. If he had the balls to drop most of the team we'd all know why!

Harsh. My Dad knows the wife of one of the directors at Bournemouth, the reason I was able to tell you all last summer that the Zingarevich's were in trouble and we wouldn't make any more signings.

Anyway, the reason Howe left Burnley was a personal one to do with a member of his family being seriously ill, not to do with his performance as manager.

*Edit, what the Guardian said.

Yeah, but for who? It's simply not realistic to ask him to play a team made up mostly of 18 and 19 year olds. He's gone with Obita and he's used Hector. He's hardly shy about playing kids if he thinks they're ready.

I'll be amazed if there aren't changes. But we don't have the bodies to make wholesale ones. Can you imagine what stick he'd get if he did play something like the team below and it got stuffed by 3 or more? It'd be horrendus.

Federici
Gunter, Pearce, Hector, Obita
Blackman, Kuhl, Tshibola, Tanner
Taylor
Ugwu

That's exactly my point though - He wouldn't get stick for it & people would actually respect it. And so what if we get stuffed? The first 11 will anyway.
