better than what we have and £600k is cheap by todays standards. I wouldn't be against him coming here at all but I would hope he would be 1 of a few coming in and we wouldn't be reliant on him.

IN for this. Like him a lot at this level. Clever forward who should fit the Adkins style quite nicely. Hopefully the homecoming should give his career the nudge in the right direction that it seems to need.

No worries if he comes back, probably shouldn't have gone in the first place and in all reality £600,000 can't go wrong for that price, should fit into Nigel Adkins style comfortably. If it does go through then I hope everyone gets behind him and welcomes him home.

Would quite like to see Coxy back here. I thought his best spell was when he was at West Brom, playing off the striker in a 4-2-3-1, which possibly looks like might be our formation for the coming season. As much as I'd like to see Jake Taylor or Craig Tanner claim that position, I'm not overly convinced that either are quite ready for this level.

As long as he understands he doesn't have the pedigree to claim big money and we're giving him the chance to rekickstart his career, I like this a lot. Not brilliant, but an area we're weak and he's got promise and experience

my.......how this thread has turned on its arse.

Would be a decent re-acquisition, given our current plight......not a kid anymore.....probably as much use, off of the pitch as he would be on it.

We need experienced players to guide the youngsters so yes, someone like Cox could be very useful for the club even if he doesn't produce the goods himself all the time.

Rob Dorsett ‏@Dorselator 3m
Sky sources: Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie both leaving #nffc bound for #Readingfc. Cox will have 2nd medical tmrw. Mackie is season's loan.

I assume he works for Sky. You'd hope that's accurate, but I don't recall their hit rate being particularly good. They're too interested in breaking 'news' constantly to worry about whether it's true or not.

More and more often they seem to run with what's big on twitter. I've seen them "breaking" news, 24 hours after the event.

Am I the only one really disappointed if this happens? Sorry but he's just not that good.
