I think it might have something to do with the Welsh, Irish and Scots not having a history of dominating the nation and that the English ought to be comfortable enough with their lot that they don't feel the need to descend to overt and crass nationalism for a bit of pride and respect when they're already the dominate party.

Whatever happened to a bit of stiff up lipped English reserve.

Flag waving and overt nationalism is just beneath us.

strap Actually it was nothing to do with UKIP! It was a qustionaire seeking to see how the English view themselves compared to how the Scots, Welsh and Irish view themselves. Why is it so acceptable for Welsh, Scottish and Irish nationlism to flourish but if the English seek to assert their nationalism, it is considered vile??? You left-wing bigots need to lose a few chips off your shoulders. Actually you need to do the world a favour and just oxf*rd off. You are consuming oxygen that would be better used by human beings.

likeable post.

Actually incredible. Perhaps English Nationalism would be far more celebrated if it didn't include blaming all ones issues on an entire religion/race. I'm all for a bit of English pride but would never follow scumbags like this (see below) into celebration. Our ancestors fought to rid the world of Fascism, not to use it to promote our own identity.

Because they are thick as shit.

Standing there doing the Nazi salute, knowing full too well they would bottle it if they came up against anyone bigger than them. The clobber is oxf*rd disgusting, probably can't afford anything better because racism has cost them a job, which is fantastic.

Are they remotely relevant?
Just a loosely organised bunch of guys who want to relive the 80s by arranging rucks with the ANL along the South Coast.
Politically theyre zero, undoubtedly racist in their own way and certainly not defending England against anyone.

The fact that this question has turned up on only page 3 of this thread suggests the 'Football' Survey may not have achieved its aims.
