Agree with the majority that 3-0 to Newcastle seems the most likely, though I can't help feel we're due a memorable away win.

When was the last time we went somewhere and picked up a surprise or big victory? I think it might even be the last time we went to St James' Park and ALF got both.

We're definitely capable, but I'd imagine if Newcastle finally click they'd probably overwhelm our seemingly shaky defence, hoping though for something similar to when we went to big-spending Leicester 2nd or 3rd game of the season a few years back and beat them 0-2

Derby away last game of the season the season before last when we won 3-0 was a bit of a shock.

Probably Burnley away last season.

Anyone who has seen us away consistently since then will know that there is nothing to suggest we are "due a memorable away win" beyond the logic we've been shit for so oxf*rd long, eventually we won't be so shit.

Top Flight They're not a team at the moment. There is no pattern to their play and not enough intensity from their players.

We have every chance in this game.

Longhorn1970
Royal With Cheese We. Will. Get. Dicked.

similar score line to the St James' Park massacre of 1990.

Newcastle look awful and I think we could sneak something from this ... 1-1

That's what happens, a team at the bottom look awful, down on confidence and bereft of ideas.

Then we turn up and help them out.

Newcastle don't look that awful, they narrowly lost away at Fullham and got beat by a very competent Huddersfield side.

Unless something drastic changes between and now tomorrow they will probably win fairly comfortably (though I think we will play much better) and every sky sports spunking pundit will be hailing them as champions to be again.

Sissoko has been ruled out with an "ankle injury".

Poor lad. I hope that won't impact his medical at Everton.

2-1 reading

Mcshane and Williams score late on after Newcastle score early and start coasting

Probably Burnley away last season.

That was down to the good start. Can't say we dominated the game from there on.

I thought the criteria was "last surprise/big away win?" Didn't see anything about dominating.

This game purely depends on our ability to deal with a home team having a right go at us. We couldn't cope with Wolves pressing us. Let's hope Jaap Stam has drilled tonight's side to deal with that if we continue to play our possession game.

If we don't, we'll get tonked 3-0.
If we do, we might well sneak a 1-0.

I have a sneaky feeling we'll get tonked.
