Thankfully after Stoke we have a 2 week break to try and get some of our crocks back to somewhere near fitness, with our record I wouldn`t bet on it.
We so badly need some first choice players for this horrendous run-in.

We desperately needed a buffer over the bottom three going into this run of games. We don’t have it. I think we are going down as I don’t see where the wins are coming from.

Why did we need a buffer? Where are Wigan, Rotherham wins coming from? We are all pretty much looking at daunting run ins.

Rotherham only have 2 games against teams in the bottom half, we have 3 as do Wigan.

My biggest concern is we have no win against the top 6 but we have already beaten Bristol City and Preston, who both could end up in there.

If Wigan lose to Bolton, then it brings Bolton back into the survival fight (I think draw). Look at Wigan's run in after Saturday - where does a team on a potentially 8 game run without a win suddenly pick up a win?

We needed to be out of the bottom 3 at this point and we are. We want to stay out of it before the break, baring a Rotherham pulling off a massive shock or us getting stuffed, we should do. It's going to be tight and despite the others apparently having more fight, we are still picking up more points than them of late.

Roughly this time last year Birmingham were coming out of a run of 7 defeats in a row. They turned it around and finished clear...

Not saying Wigan can do that, but we're level pegging after our best run of the season and they're on a bad one. Regression to mean for both means we finish below them.

Don't agree re Millwall, they've been sussed out this season by most sides.

In addition they don't play again Sat and will lose ground and then three of their four games after the break are Leeds, WBA and Sheff U.

Fair enough - I see Stoke as a winnable game tomorrow - they only have 1 win in 8 (and 2 in last 12) - we are in much better form than them. Our recent away form (4 games) is better than their home form. Their season is over, which could be a blessing or a curse, we shall see.

If we win that, we have a winnable home game v Preston (who are in incredible away form admittedly).

Not saying we won't go down but looking at upcoming fixtures and possibly more importantly form going into them (Wigan no win in 6, Us 3 wins in 6) I think regardless of results tomorrow, I think they are currently the more likely to drop of either of us as we just need to roughly maintain form whilst they must substantially improve it.

Hull City (Away) – Loss – Hull have lost some lately, but against good teams
Norwich (Away) – Loss – Anything else would be a major shock

Bristol City (Away) – Loss – Another that would be a huge shock!
West Brom (Home) – Draw – Maybe even nick a win. They are not a happy club right now!
Middlesboro (Away) – Loss – Can’t see anything else
Birmingham (Home) – Win – Nice one to finish with, but with hard games preceding it, confidence may be low! If we need a win, I think we will get it!

I think 42 points would just about do it! Anything more will be a bonus!

I have run through the Fishy Calculator about 5 times only putting in the expected results of the bottom six.
Its well known that I am a glass half full type of guy; however I keep on coming up with a result which indicates we will survive. I think I have been very conservative ( by my calculation we will not gain another point on the road)-equally where I have been very unsure of a result I have put in a draw-a lot of these games involve Derby and Forest who are very inconsistent.-also I have not taken into account where teams are assured of at least a top six place; when they play their final games.
However in forecasting survival; which goes against my gut instincts following the Leeds capitulation-our Home form has to be very good from here on in. In my calculation:;

Brentford Win
Brum Win

This means squeaky bum time, for our last game of the season against Brum; a game I believe we will have to win to survive. Knowing the fortitude of our lot we may put in a horror show of a performance.

Incidentally my last forecast on Fishy came in with Norwich promoted and Sheff Utd second ahead of Leeds on goal difference. No doubt Leeds Saturday loss influenced the Fishy forecast.
