Lower West Training ground would make a good facility for another Premiership outfit.

It would if you could pick it up and move it. It miles from any prem club

Also not sure why a PL club would want 2 training grounds.

Or why they'd buy a 2nd hand one miles away from them.

Notts Royal I just want Dai to hurry up and sell the club as we’ll be worth less next season in L1.

Glad to see others are now finally wising up to what a dangerous parasite he is

And who exactly is going to buy it, particularly who are a 'good' owner?

Brogue Ok so say the funding stops and we go bust. What’s Dai’s exist strategy? How does he cash out?

His exit strategy potentially is:

I've lost so much money on that football club. It's losing me £20m a year. I don't want to lose £20m a year.

I'm walking away. How does he walk away, makes everyone redundant, liquidates the club. Doesn't get any of his money back, but stops losing it.

That is a worst worst case scenario. There is a middle ground where he tries to limit his losses as much as possible while still maintaining a saleable asset. That is, he installs a playing squad that does not lose money, this is a very low wage squad. It is nowhere near Championship standard, but nonetheless it is a team. This team drops through to League 1 then League 2, at which point, maybe he can run a break even enterprise, and wait for someone else to buy.

There is a upside scenario where he thinks, i've lost loads of money, but i have loads more, and i still want a PL team. He carries on spending. Problem with this scenario is he has used up his allowable losses and stadium buy backs, so any future team needs to be financed out of the clubs revenues and make maximum usage of allowed losses. Such a team given Reading low fan base isnt that likely to be promotion to PL competitive.

So not sure there are any good options for Dai at this point.

The Royal Forester The Dais have owned two clubs who have gone bust. I would be interested in knowing if their circumstances compare to ours. If anyone knows the answers please tell
Did the Dais stay in the background as much as they do here?
Was Kia involved with either of those two clubs?
Did the clubs sell the stadium or any other assets to the Dais before going bust?
If so, what happened to those assets after the club(s) ceased to function?
What happened to the stadium, land etc. if not owned by the Dai's?
Were the clubs run in the shambolic way we are?
How often the Manager/Coach was changed

I was assuming that for tax reasons, having a business that perpetually loses money might have it's plus sides. I know almost nothing about tax and trade laws, but if you're taxed based on profit, I wonder if having a subsidiary that loses money could be handy?

Either way we are now wholely dependent on the owners. If they leave now, we are so done for. Desperately hoping they don't leave. I guess if the worste does happen, we all go and support Reading City? Are they still a thing?

As he is the main creditor it is more likely he would put us up for sale unless we have other large creditors like HMRC ( Derby situation) He could reduce his shareholding and bring in others . Doubt he would liquidise us but not sure he will want continuing to put money in . Difficulty is how unpredictable the Chinese are .

We need a statement from the owner about what he's trying to achieve here. What are his goals. What is the plan?

As it stands he's come in, been silent, we've been told he likes to remain in the background, so we have no idea what his vision is, and we can't build any form of positive relationship with him or his numpty number two.

As a fan since the early 90's, this is the worst state the club has been in, and I have zero confidence we have an owner who can lead us out of this mess and back into some form of stability.

I've never felt so disconnected from the club, and that appears to be felt by other fans, with attendances continuing to drop to depressing levels.

I think his objectives are to move some of his money out of China so he has a stack of wealth the Communist party can't touch and he can flee to if it becomes necessary.

And football clubs are an excellent way to do this because their finances are so dodgy.

Well there are ongoing protests at Birmingham against their faceless Chinese owners, it`s ironic that they are our visitors next week, maybe that`s just the way they conduct their business.
They had a points deduction a couple of years back too. but they are still there.
