Crowthorne Royal Oxford - I watched a little bit of Oxford vs Crawley on SKY last night - How the 'not so mighty' have fallen. From Div 1 in the 80's to The Conference now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are Oxford the only team in the conference to have played in the top flight?

Accrington Stanley were one of the founders of the league were they not? Hence played in the top flight?

They were promoted to the Football League last season.....

My first game was luton (h) boxing day 1994, can't remember much of the game though as I was only 5 at the time. 0-0 draw on a freezing day at elm park, what a start

That was one hell of a long and epic campaign - must've played at least 4000 games.

That Friday Feeling My first game was against Darlington on 8th September 1984.

We lost 1-4.

That has reminded me of possibly the worst football kit of all time. From my (dimming) memory I recall a game in the early '70's when I'm sure it was Doncaster who turned up in an all purple away kit.

Anyone confirm this for me?

The worst kit I can remember was that worn by Man City at Elm Park in 1996 - looked like it had been modelled on strips of liver.

Almost as bad at the Man City kit they wore in March 1999 (I think!).

Looked like some kid had got his highlighter pen out and coloured in the shirts.
