Fairplay to those loyal Wigan fans. Had it been us, we would have taken a similar amount.

I hope they stay up this season. They battered us at the JJB and yesterday for the 1st 30 minutes they looked excellent.

and including themselves there are 7 premiership teams within 20 miles (including bolton only 4 miles away) whearas type RG1 in and within 20 miles there is us and wycombe. Fair play to those that made the trip and i hope they do well this season and slowly build on their fanbase.

No, we took around 1500. Although we were given an end of 5000. Which in percentage AND numerical terms means we took a hell of a lot more than Wigan took to us.

As for us taking 300 on a Friday night, that was 2 divisions below the Premiership, which certainly isn't as big an attraction as the Premiership.

Wigan as a club don't deserve to be in the Premiership. Fans are crap, club is crap, bankrolled by an outspoken OAP and they play in an oversized Rugby League stadium. And I hate them.

We took 1500 on a Saturday afternoon. Do you really think we'd take more than 500 to Wigan on a Tuesday night, Premiership or not?

I'll be very interested to see how many we take to Middlesbrough.......

Didn't Darlington bring more in the Cup? And they're further north than Wigan!

Wigan deserve a top flight team because they did it the same way we did it. If anyone tries to say that they are un deserving of being there then we are too. However, their attendace is poor. Not good enough for the Championship let alone the Prem and the fans that do turn up don't know how lucky they are.

Given we sold out or Newcastle allocation on a Tuesday night, yes.

Newcastle Away is a slightly different proposition though. A ground many haven't been to and an impressive stadium, plus it was seen as one of the "glamour" games. Compare that to Wigan - a ground that we've been to regularly over the years and hardly a big game.

If we'd been away last night we'd have taken about 1000 max. Not that it really matters.
