Skin No but the appeal of wearing your clubs shirt goes away with puberty....and/or a few seasons of continiously paying for ST, shirts, travel etc. Its still new and exciting for a lot of these fans but they'll find alcohol sooner or later.

Ever thought of the fact that some people can afford shirts & beer as well because they're adults who earn decent wages, spend it how they want and simply don't give a flying fcuk what you or anyone else think?

Evidently not.

No.1 football factory rule for acceptable hardcore football behaviour = drink lots of beer.

essentially it boils down to "lads" who can't quite grasp that not doing things exactly the way they do doesn't equate to being wrong.

If people don't want to wear colours, then they shouldn't wear them, but they shouldn't go round like football evangelists declaring that their way is the one true way. Generally it seems to be lads in their early 20s who seem convinced they know more about how football used to be 15-20 years ago than people who were actually there.

The only true fans wear white boiler suits, doc martins and bowler hats.

Shirts indeed!

Dirk Gently It's just another version of the age-old hobnob staple, "I'm a better fan than you because......"

Don't get involved, just walk on by.

Great post. We all support the same team, but is it too much to ask to support each other? I am way late to the 'Reading is the best damn football team in the world party!' but I hope I will still be let in the door, even if I am wearing my newly purchased Reading replica shirt.

95% of the Met boys and girls were there on overtime from other divisions, so were pretty much strangers to the area. The BTP guys were very knowledgeable, and saved me a lot of grief by directing me to another way back to my Car in North London.

If in doubt ask a (local) policeman :@)
