We've moved on, Sid got what he wanted and I don't mean the money.

Don't see why people still insist on being so bitter. Still one of the best centre mids we've ever had.

Sidwell leaves Reading, he is now not all that..... Sidders did wonders for Reading and he may not be in the same league as Lampard, Essien, Makalele, Ballack and Mikel etc, but by training with those players he will improve his game, which is the main reason he went to Chelsea.

If the move doesn't work out for him then fair enough - its not often players like sidders get those opportunities to play for one of the big teams and he had to take it. If you dont try you dont know!

Chelsea had nothing to lose signing him either - he;ll leave for a big fee if it doesn't work out and he was free in the first place.

I think you need to check out the last couple of player of the year votes.

Whilst Sidwell was outstanding 3 seasons ago for th elast 2 years he has been no mmore than one of many cogs in a very effective machine, that has barely missed a beat since he was decommissioned.

A good servant, but you are on a loser if you think somehow those of us who have watched him for several years are revising our opinion just because he moved on.

On a 2 year contract? Probably leave for nothing.

Chelsea will cash in, after this season if Mourinho doesn't think he's good enough.

James Harper is a legend

Has stepped up already for me since Sidders departure

Now Murts is injury prone I think he should be the new captain

Thanks very much Sidders but enjoy getting splinters in your arse for the rest of the season (thats if u can get on the bench)

We're missing him massively.

He took the ball from our half into the opposition half safely.

Alan Partridge
Behindu So 3 games in, a decent start to the season and are we missing Mr Sidwell or has he gone to join Dick Spiers, Dennis Butler, Paul Lemon and Jimmy McIntyre as just a name in a David Downs book ?

A very strange inclusion if you were trying to say 'just another player' considering Spiers appearances and contribution to RFC at the time.

Sidwell has been missed i think, not just on the pitch but he seemed well liked. It's still too early to tell at this stage i'd say.

So AP, what do you know about the Halford affair?

Gunnarson - the most underrated player ever in the Premiership. Awesome against Everton. Especially winning headers in midfield. Go back to earlier comments I made about Gunnarson when I predicted he would be more than a good replacemnet for Sidwell. Buy Icelandic I say!!

I thought Gunnarsson was ok against Everton, not a patch on Arteta though who dominated the midfield though.

Now you're just fishing. A great player he is, but he did not have a great game against us at all. The only dominant midfielder in that match was Hunty.

We give the ball away far to cheaply in the midfield at the moment, it's credit to our defence we've got 4 points so far but we need Fae to come in and do the business because if we carry on losing possession so cheaply we'll be in trouble over the course of a season.

Arteta is a great player but he did nothing against us not sure what game you were watching. Even all the Everton fans said what a poor game he had. If he dominated then everyone was out for lunch.

My opinion is he did. Evertons lack of finishing cost them dear on Saturday and one poor piece of defending.
