1753: Liverpool appeal for a penalty after Fernando Torres is upended by Ibrahima Sonko as he cuts into the box. It is a decent shout too but Andre Marriner isn't interested.

1753: "Reading are certainly not out of it as an attacking force. They've weathered a decent spell from Liverpool after their equaliser and when they get the ball to Doyle and Kitson they look quite lively."

Not a bad showing from the boys IMO.

Think Liverpool will be given a penalty if we go anywhere near them in the box. They will claim that they have been denied 2 pens in the first half and the ref will not want to deny them a third.
Lets hope we can continue to push and take it to them. A draw would be a good result, but fair based on the first half.

Sonko got half a toe on the first one and diverted the ball. That should be enough to discount a penalty. Haven't seen a replay on the second.

Acc to Radio 5 and Collymore, Gunnar made a superb cross early on. Is he looking better today? Certainly sounds as if Reading are a bit more up and attem than recently.

I agree the dreaded "leveling up" pen is a real possibility.Overall fairly happy with the first half .Shockingly poor defending for the Gerrard goal mind.
