HighburyRoyale There's a save.

Fat lot of good it did, but at least it will help his stats a little!

Sorry, you can't count that as a save if the rebound is buried and a goal still results from the penalty kick!

He can blame Keith Stroud for that!

If it was not a save, then how come the person who took the penalty is not the scorer? Of course it was a save.

it was a save but a top class keeper would have parried it away. guess he's just not had enough practise at saving them to parry them away.

It was a save, but how you can say a top class keeper would have parried it out is beyond me. You guess, you throw your body that way. if the ball is further out than an outstretched arm it goes into the corner or wide. If the ball is within reach of the outstretched arm it usually goes round the post or off to the side. If the ball is heading for the body region it's absolutely anyone's guess where it goes if it's saved, but generally it'll go back out into the area within the goal face and in that scenario there can be absolutely NO apportioning blame to the keeper because he's done all he can.

I know it hit the post but I thought USA did well against Kranjcar.

Kranjcar bottled it when the pause in the run didn't reveal which way Marcus was going to go. Seems he's learned to stand his ground and make the striker make the decision rather than deciding for him.

We can thank Sonko for the practice.
