URZZZZZZZZ
Alan Partridge
URZZZZZZZZ Shorey managed to ooze any amount of momentum from every attack with his atrocious crossing today. If this had been better then I'm sure we would've come away with at least a point.

So long Nicky, thanks for everything except this season.

Nicky does that in one game this season boooooooooooooooooo

Hunt does it in 38 games this season and he gets Player of the Year.

Reading fans = clueless.

I agree with you, and for what its worth I voted Hahnemann. However this is a Nicky Shorey thread so it only right that I give my view on him rather than any other player. You must agree AP that Shorey has been poor this season?

Absolutely, and he was utter crap for 80minutes today. But they all were. Did shorey deserve to get booed? Absolutely not. Harper was worse, Kitson was worse, and the rest weren't much better.

The entire lot of them aren't good enough for this league and that's why we are finishing 19th this season, with only the embarassingly wretched Derby keeping us off the bottom of this years table.

To be fair to Nicky, he had a fair go in the second half. But he's just too left footed, or rather, not sufficiently two footed. Every player in the league must know if the ball is on his right foot then he's going to switch before crossing, shooting or passing.

I assume he's off. Maybe it's time he should be.

(I didn't vote as I couldn't think of anyone who hadn't been mostly gash or absent too much to be POTY, until it was too late and I was reminded Hanhemann deserved it).

One game your having a laugh!

Shorey has been absolute shite this season.
Cannot throw in, Cannot take free kicks, Cannot tackle, Cannot shoot, one footed ,slow ,has no idea how to mark an opposing player and that was just todays efforts.
His mind is obviously elsewhere.
Bye Nicky thanks and good bye

If, as we all suspect, he's not performing because he knows he's going then he's not acting in a professional manner. I've said before, if I was West Ham I wouldn't want to sign him given his current form. I can only assume the deal has already been signed. I hope we got a lot of money for him, because we sure as hell won't get much if they come in for him after next week.

This lad sounds awful you've described, who is he?

Shorey's set pieces this season have been good on the whole, today was his worst game possibly ever for us. But your review is bang wrong, he's got the most assists for us again this season, and when we sell the England international we'll make a cool £4-5million from him.

I thought it was just his crosses and corners that were bad. The rest of his game was good - good positioning, good passes...I thought anyway.

We'd be lucky to get £3million tops I reckon. His corners this season have been dire - whether it's the game plan, I don't know, but way too many short corners that end up being won by the opposition, or long corners to the far post and there's no Reading player there.

Correct but he's not on his own there. Our crossing as a team has been woeful, hence why our strikers that scored 50 odd between them 2 years ago have about 15 between them this season.

Shorey is a very saleable asset whatever anyone thinks of him, 27 and a full England international, he's a very good player when on form and will be a good signing for someone next season.

He wouldn't get in the team at West Ham - McCartney has been superb at LB for them this season.

I almost feel sorry for him as it's so obvious he does not enjoying playing at the moment , he wouldn't get in any other team on present form , get rid and take anything we cant get , he's got no bottle for a fight

Yesterday's booing of Shorey as he stepped up to take the corner summarised a tragic season.

Heroes turned into villains. That's what made me feel really depressed last night.

Coppell and Madejski have an awful lot to answer for. Just how did they manage to cock things up so badly in such a short space of time?

Been a great player for the club but for his attitude and commitment this season, I'd quite happily tell him to oxf*rd off to his face.

I feel sorry for Shorey that the majority of supporters will remember this season on it's own when his legacy at RFC has been superb, been a model pro and will make this football club a handsome profit, yet that will all be easily forgotten.

The booing was just outright frustration of fans seeing their players starting to make attacking inroads, but which were thrown away by a player whose set-pieces were amateur at best. I wouldnt read too much into the booing......you can read a lot into Shorey's reaction to it though

//FWIW I have never booed anyone, makes me cringe when I hear it. Was disgusted at the hlaf-time booing. But still found the shorey booing from a few to be understandable in the circumstances

Agreed, if there has been a more consistant player EVER to wear a Reading shirt I'd like to hear it. Shorey has been consistently excellent for Reading since his debut away at Aston Villa. 6 years worth of progression and achievement that ended with playing for England against Brazil at Wembley. Yet he got booed during the match yesterday while Stephen Hunt collected the player of the season award, that is just absolutely incredible. Some of you are an utter disgrace.

Shorey has had by far his worst season for the club yet there has been no tolerance or no room for error, first opportunity and made him of all people a scapegoat, minutes earlier he stopped a certain Spurs 2nd goal.

If relegation means that a good proportion of you utter oxf*rd who have hopped on the bandwagon, stay the fcuk away for the Madejski next season then i will gladly take that.
