A few days ago the Official site said that we are keeping 8pm kick-offs at midweek home games, so I don't know where you saw this. Exception is TV Fridays when they are 7.45 for TV purposes. That's TV Fridays, not TFI Fridays.

Late 1970s.
Before then people weren't as sophisticated and pedancy was not so rife, so you would see both.
