Alan Bennett is a quality centre half. He is easily good enough for Championship level, as he proved last season with Soton

.....whose supporters rated him the worst defender that they had ever seen? The same set of supporters who watched Francis Benali play week-in week-out for more than a decade.

No this is the same Bennett that Soton fans rated very highly and who was voted onto the Championship TOTW. Benno had a shaky start with Soton and was outt of the team for about 2 months, then when given another chance he was ever present and played extremely well. Reading refused an extension to his loan so they could let him waste in the reserves until they oxf*rd him out to some League 2 crowd.
