Roger the Rabbit Neil Webb
ironically also to Pompey

Reasons (which may not be valid, I'm sure others will correct me !)

- he'd not played that much for us, was obviously going to be a top player and it was disappointing we weren;t going to see him develop first hand
- local lad, big family connection to the club
- didn't get much of a fee for him (£70k ?)
- move seemed to happen quickly so didn;t have time to get used to it - back in the good old days before the internet when these things weren't the subject of months of gossip followed by months of anguish !

and Pompey weren't in the top flight then. QPR, who were in the top division at that time, were supposedly also interested in him and I was disappointed that he "only" went to Portsmouth if he was going anywhere.

Kevin Bremner. Craft and graft in equal measure. Was gutted when he went to Brighton.

Shaka Hislop, Adie Williams, Glen Little..... they're the only transfers out that upset me.

Iforgot to mention in my earlier post, gutted when Steve Francis went to Huddersfield, surely one of the classiest keepers ever to grace the colours of RFC?

Dariusz Wdowczyk - Best defender ever for Reading, shame he had too many injury problems and things went sour with Gooding & Quinn.

Steve Brown - 1 of the most underrated Reading players I've seen, gave everything for this club and got treated badly with Coppell when it came down to an injury which finished his career.

Don;t recall the Steve Brown situation - didn;t we extend his contract to help him with his injury and then he decided he wasn;t going to recover so quit ?
