Winchester Royal Sunderland, because we had to go to Newcastle, and then get the metro down to The Stadium of Light.

Snap.

Similarly flown to Newcastle and then got the train down to Middlesbrough. Furthest day-trip probably Blackburn.

NEWCASTLE for me.
It was the third round of the F.A.Cup in 1969 and Itravelled up overnight from London arriving before dawn.
On the same train were Fulham supporters going to Sunderland and they won easily Malcom McDonald getting a hat-trick I think.
This caused huge cheers over the tannoy at St.James Park at the end of the game.
We lost 3-0 if I remember correctly but did not deserve to do so.

Osnabruck, Germany, just to see us lose at Cardiff with the whole family, and return prompto against our plans.

otherwise Newcastle, of course, for serious matches.

Carlisle mid week for a 0-0. I think that's the furthest north we can go out of the current football league clubs?

Once I was visiting Ayre's Rock in Australia wen Reading got a replay against Barnet in the Coca-Cola Cup.

I travelled on foot to the nearest airport and flew to England to get to Reading just in time for the last ten minutes of the game and I went back again.

You probably won't believe it but it is fact.

Magnus What's the furtherest distance you've travelled to watch your beloved team play?

Probably Sheffield for me.

I drove to all but 2 home games whilst living in Leeds. 445 mile round trip sometimes twice a week.

I've done Lux to Newcastle, Sunderland, Wigan and Leeds. Two wins, two defeats.

Based in Reading, the furthest I ever travelled was the FA Cup train special to Hereford in about 1977.

Must have taken 8 hours there and 8 hours back on a 1970s British Rail football special  . I'm surprised that the state of the toilets at the end wasn't seared into my mind forever.

Ark - I didn't bunk off school for the Blyth replay with my Mum's approval - I just went anyway as school was on the Tilehurst Rd

I do 5 or 6 matches home or away each season - and each one is a c. 7,000 mile roundtrip..... but I used to be a STH when living in Leeds/Keighley/Bradford.... full marks for Deathy.
