Deadlock
Ark Royal Might just have that beat. 11 Rutland Road and prior to that 25 Prince of Wales Avenue.

Blimey - I used to live there in about 1990! Was Mo still the landlord when you were there?

I think I'm on to a winner here, though - 196 Tilehurst Road. There was a hole in the fence in the back garden from which I could see most of the pitch, but the walk round to the South Bank turnstiles took only a few seconds.posting.php?mode=quote&f=1&p=2133087#

Prince of Wales was Mum and Dad's first house before we moved to Bracknell. Lived at my Nan's house in Rutland Road for a little while. Always went there before and after games until she died in '83.

I used to live less than half a mile away from the Walkers Stadium whilst I was at uni, made our promotion that extra bit sweeter!

Millwall or Charlton (walked there and back for the evening 0-0 game near the end of 0607 Prem season). Since I live in Lewisham.

Yeah - but that's to a home game - and if I remember correctly you stood on the South Bank, so that's more than 25 paces.

The best I can do was about 15 yards. That was the distance from my front door to the car that picked me up. Upon arrival in Tilehurst Rd, Ark Royal pushed me to Elm Park in a wheelchair! It was a day after a nasty little op but I did not want to miss the play off semi final second leg against Tranmere. Ark's uncle got my ticket for the Tilehurst End while I sat with the raspberries. AR was exceedingly pissed off after the game as he had to push me up Waverley Road and up Tilehurst Road to get to the car. I was a right fat s*indon back then!!! Ark still complains to this day :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just going back to those from Southcote who reckoned it was just a 5-minute walk they must be Olympic walkers to get to Elm Park in that time. :D

Adams Park/Causeway Stadium. I used to live on Lane End Road in High Wycombe so it was just a half mile walk through the Industrial Estate to the match.

Crap thread.

What do you mean "back then"? Waverley Road never seemed so long and steep.

Used to live close enough to The Dell to leave on the final whistle and be home in time to see the result come through on the teleprinter. Did sometimes consider popping home at half time for a cuppa and a sandwich.

this is quite a pointless thread, but i will reply regardless....shortest would be any home game at Madjeski when I lived in Whitley Wood.......more recently it would have to be the away game at Watford a couple of seasons ago, the 142 bus from Stanmore to Watford

Since i live Pompey way now( Gosport to be exact ) , probably the Havant & Waterlooville game could be the shortest.....
