During a 0–4 defeat at home to Aston Villa, a Middlesbrough fan ran onto the pitch and threw his season ticket at McClaren signifying his disgust at the club's performances

There we go.

seahawk10 I STILL BELIEVE!!!

Really ?

In that case watch out for a fat bloke in a red suit at Christmas and a goofy fella with floppy ears delivering eggs this weekend.

I'll be going to the game as usual but the scales are tipping more towards going for the day on the beer than any real expectations regarding the game these days.........

Short and Curly,

I agree. We're probably screwed. But it's more to do with our dreadful football than Woodcote's decision not to go to a game.

Woodcote Royal It just makes accusations of me lacking loyalty to the club pathetic.

Loyalty is going to the game despite the poor form we are in. Not going is the easy option.

LOL @ you idiots getting wound up about people not going.

Football is a form of entertainment. I have not been entertained since Christmas (apart from Federici's goal) therefore I cannot be arsed to watch 4-5-1, no shots on target football.

Reading till they lose
They're Reading till they lose
They know they are they sure they are they're Reading till they lose

Nothing like a bad run to sort out the supporters from the plastics. In the unlikely event of a win today, no doubt the plastics will be flocking back, I just hope they don't have the temerity to call themselves "supporters" again.

'greed. Though I'm not going tonight, live too far away and I have work. But I still wouldn't ever miss a match if I had the choice.

I almost never got the day off work today after someone tried backing out of covering my shift. I almost went down the TOD route before my manager backed me.

Yes, but entertainment isn't the be all and end all. If it was, we'd all just support Barcelona. This is one of those occasions where the family pulls together and gets through a thin patch. Those of us who do so will be stronger for it.

Can't argue with that considered and articulate viewpoint. The imaginative use of the argument housebrick that is "LOL @" just tops it off nicely. That's it, I'm intellectually defeated by this reply.

Jobbo no.11 Seriously what is going on with our club when the team are sat in fourth place pushing for promotion, with a massive game on a bank holiday and half our fans can even be arsed to turn up.
I wont be there on Friday due to being in Newcastle but will only the third home game ive missed all season, and im not even a season ticket holder.
Come on people go along give the boys the best backing of the season and watch what is the most important game of the season.
BELIEVE!!!!

I take it you didn't go to Crystal Palace and I take it you didn't go to Coventry

There is a difference supporting your team when they are clearly sub standard or lacking technique - then you keep watching regardless (IMO)
But when there is not an ounce of self belief and not an iota of passion, I think you can be forgiven for giving it a miss and you certainly can be forgiven for no longer believing
Having said that I'm going today - just don't know why

I can't help but feel that going tonight will be like the final visit to an elderly and much-loved relative who's on their deathbed - as Sheffield United clinically put our lingering hopes of automatic promotion finally out of their misery.....

..... but I'll be there none-the-less. You have to experience the bad times to be able to appreciate the good times. A football team is for life, not just when the going's good.

Otherwise, you might as well bugger off and be an armchair TV supporter of one of the Big 4.
