Doesn't it partially depend on the date of Reading festival as to whether we play home or away? We are always away when the festival is on.

^indeed. Is the first day of the season August 15h? If so I'd guess we'll be away as a fortnight later we're definitely away, although this kind of ignores any midweek games thrown in

Also, this is to be ignored if opening day is actually August 8th

So, to summarise, there is a good chance that everything youve just written is bollocks?

Think yourself lucky that I noticed that I'd say opening day was April 15th

What's the date of the opening day fixtures? Does it clash with the festival, as obviously that would erradicate the possibility of a home game.

It'll either be 16th or 17th June - there's a probelm this year because the date of the meeting of the panel that finalises them clashes with a Football League Board meeting - so final date of release isn't confirmed yet!

I'll quite happily take anyone except:

Leicester, Peterborough, Millwall, MK Dons, or Scunthorpe away due to the immense high they'll be on for being promoted.

Cardiff City away because they'll want to put on a big show for the opening of their new stadium. First games at new stadiums almost always result in home wins. The only one I can think of that didn't was Bolton at the Reebok which was a 0-0...against Manchester United.

West Brom as regardless of the fact they may be relegated, they will retain the bulk of the side that got them to the Premiership in the first place and they were easily the best team in the division that year.

My personal preference would be Hull City away.

Wizard We are always away when the festival is on.
No were not, it depends who we get drawn against and whether the police feel they can cope with policing it.

If you want to go to the festival and not miss a game keep your fingers crossed we don't get drawn against a team with friendly fans at home!

SLAMMED Burnley at home. I'd like to see how many fans they'd bring if they stay down.

Agreed.

8th August.

spot on, the The 2009/10 Football League season will start 8/8/09.

The 50th anniversay of the Football League Cup, currently called the Carling Cup starts on Monday 10th August with the first round games.

Christmas and New Year is set to be hectic to say the least with all clubs scheduled to play four games in just nine days starting with a fixture on Saturday December 19th, followed by a midweek fixture, a game on Boxing Day and one on Monday December 28th.

As this year theres no New Years Day game as the following day is the first Saturday of the year and therefore is FA Cup Third Round day.
