Church himself says he is a striker who played out of position against Burnley. FWIW my feeling is that he may well turn out to be one of those strikers who is more adept at setting up his partner than scoring himself, his goals for Wales U21 notwithstanding.
Another Dean Horrix perhaps? We shall see.

I'll be incensed if they don't play him.

According to the BBC, he's been playing with a stress fracture.

You're right. That's happened to me a lot lately. I blame the kids.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 075370.stm:

Wales are expected to give youngster Simon Church his full debut in Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Baku.

Manager John Toshack could partner the Reading striker with Rob Earnshaw against Azerbaijan, ditching his regular 4-5-1 pattern for away games.

Also did anyone see this mentioned from the Leyton Orient fans:

"Chu-rch, whoah-oh-oh, Chu-rch, whoah-oh-oh,
His name suggests he's holy, he's gonna beat your goalie!"
