The video of 08/09 on this board shows how SHunt (and Kebe) started this season. The reason he did that was to get a move in January, he admitted as much in September. Once January didn't work out it was like Shorey again, his head was elsewhere and the desire to succeed was gone. When he had previously been so important to us this was one of the key reasons behind our loss of form, up there with Ivar's injury. I've had enough of his attitude. We've been so good to him since we stepped him and stopped him signing for Bradford, and I never feel he's really made an effort to repay that loyalty. I'll be very surprised if we see Doyle making similar comments, for example.

Thank God that talentless prick is leaving.

Probably realised that now Rodgers is manager he wouldn't have played anyway.

C'Ya pikey.

Royal Lady LOL - he only opted to sign a new contract because no-one else came in for him.

Not the huge payrise to a reputed £25k a week then.

^ I agree. If/When Doyle goes - I think he'll be a bit sad - but I wouldn't blame him for going to a Prem club if one come in for him. SHunt on the other hand, will be running to Everton or wherever and not give us a second thought.

No - he wanted to go to a premiership club, no-one came in for him so he decided to stay for big bucks.

Harry Carry Why does everyone get so bitter when a player suggests he want to leave the club.

It isn't about someone wanting to leave. He has a huge chip on his shoulder. He thinks he's better than he is, and all he really is is a committed player with fight in his belly. As a football, he's very average! But his energy and desire to win shone through and people love that. He is/was a little pest.

It's the way he has conducted himself in the last 12 months. He's a little S**t and it's a good thing he goes. But I hope we stand firm and have a fee in mind and take not a pennt less. We have morals even if he doesn't!

Hunt will not be missed.

Why would anyone want to work at McDonalds, if they could work at a Michelin star restaurant?

LOL

Nobody here is bitter that he wants to leave. Did you even read the thread?

Bemused, but delighted.

The bare bones of it, RL, is that his new deal removed the £5m release clause he had had in the old contract. That no longer exists and he's once again making noises about leaving. So the football club bend over backwards to give him a Premiership wage while we can still afford it, he loses the release clause he originally asked for as it was scaring off potential moves elsewhere, and he in turn shits on the club 6 months later wanting a move now the clause is gone.

If you need a source for that, dig around. That is very reliable!

He's a shit! That's also very reliable!!

1960 As with Coppell losing it towards the end, but to whom we owe a huge debt, Shunt also gaves us a couple of good years. Can nobody remember when he was providing shedloads of assists for Doyle and, later, his brother to lap up? OK, maybe it's time for him to go, but I don't see any reason to be as abusive as most people on this thread.

I think most fans have an issue with Hunt's attitude. Some players, like Sidwell, give their all right up 'til they go and nobody could blame them for moving to a bigger club. A few others like Shorey, Harper and Hunt in particular begin to play like their hearts aren't in it. To most fans that's unforgiveable, particularly when you're paid £20,000 a week for a few hours work.

As for driving Hunt to his next club, I'd gladly piggy back him there!

Not sure how that works.

Pretty unanimous agreement that a move would be good for him. Removal of the clause does nothing to weaken the club's position. We could ALWAYS have accepted a deal for less than 5 million, we would have been FORCED to accept a bif in excess of that. As things stand we can;t be forced to accept any bid, and we could refuse a bid abiove 5 million. Realistically no one would bid 5 million for him anyway so the clause is redundant whether it is still there or not.

I agree with all sides that a move would be a good thing for all. What money we'd get I have no idea as these things depend so much onhow much a buying club is willing to spend. I suspect we could be very surprised - he's doing well for Ireland, was recognised widely within the game as one of the top players in the division and I think we'll comfortably get more than the million suggested by some.

Hunt's 3 new contracts in the last few years have been an uter disgrace and an ultimate slap in the face to a lot of squad members in my opinion. The guy performed well at the start of the last season in the PRem and at the start of the season just gone, other than that his personal performances have been absolutely inept for ages. instead of being dropped or even transfer listed, the powers that be gave him another new contract on extortionate money for one so limited.

An honest trier with no elegance, flair and very limited ability who could be replaced and bettered for a mere fraction of some of the sums talked about.

As for he bit about Gunnarsson, in my opinion would be a blesing in disguise also if Bryn moved on. He offers no more than Harper,Cisse,Karacan, Matejovsky and even possibly the likes of Davies could offer. Time to move on the deadwood. Should be thank you sincerely Bryn, but cya.

Dear Stephen,

You're shit and nobody here wants you. Not being able to cross or think properly does not mean that you're a Premiership footballer.

Piss off.

Good news to be honest, even better if we can get £3 million in the process!

I'm more concerned that Bryn hasn't resigned yet......

I'm sure Brendan won't be impressed by this. He will only want players who will desperately want to play for the club and make it succeed, just like he does. Funny how he's the first player to stick his head up above the parapet since the end of the season...only to bleat the 'woe is me' diatribe.

What absolutely stinks is Shunt's blatant 'come and get me pleas'. If he wants to leave, ask to be put on the Transfer List and be done with it. He can hardly show any less loyalty as it is.

Never, in all my years as a fan, have I come across such a non-professional 'professional'. The sooner he's gone the better - and I'd imagine most of the dressing room would think so too. I can't stand turning on players of your own team in general, but this pcunt takes the biscuit. Sod off and good riddance.
