ridiculously low offer to accept IMO

if hunt was worth a 5M clause then bikey was worth more
best defender at the club, best midfielder at the club, best striker at the club, best celebration at the club, best hair at the club

Ian Royal [I think he is easily the most talented CB we have...
For £2.5m I would be happy to see him leave and write him off as another never quite made it.

50% agree: most talented = Ivar; sell at £2.5m abso-bloody-lutely

Typical guff on Bikey here.

Our best defender by miles, I think we would've gone up if he'd played instead of duberry last year.

Bikey and Matejovksy are the players we should be building the team around yet we stuck with Harper and Duberry last year and ended up staying down.

I'd be gutted if Bikey goes, as I, unlike some here, would like our best players to stay at the club, "attitude problem" or not.

I can never quite figure out what this "attitude problem" is supposed to be.

There has never been anything wrong with his attitude to the game, the club, his team-mates etc. that I have seen - he just loses his rag occasionally. I'd rather he didn't but that's a problem with discipline not attitude.

I would be absolutely over the moon if he stays next season (with Matejovsky) but do fear he'll go - if he does then I'd be happy with £2.5m.

Here's an interesting one... If Bikey were to leave before the season started and went to France (or any other foreign league), and then came back say 3 years later, not necessarily to Reading, but to an English club, would he still have to serve his 3 match ban that's hanging over him for the start of this season when he gets back?

Nothing to do with selling him, I was just curious.

Thought he had a 5 match ban ... and I might be wrong but surely it applies wherever he plays, not just in England.

I think the word Coppell seemed to use was trust. Can't trust him not to switch off, or to lose his head, or to jump into a tackle.

I suspect the number of mistakes he makes through switching off are probably less than our other defenders make through lack of ability / speed (in comparison to him, that is).

I believe it would be a huge mistake to sell Bikey - even for £2.5M.

He has the makings of a top class CD. Don't forget the best CD's are usually late 20's and it will not surprise me if he ends up playing for a top side either here or in Europe.

Yes he has an odd discipline blip - but to be fair only once last season as his first sending off at Cardiff was unlucky in the extreme. Rosenior in comparison got sent off twice deservedly - so he is just as much a liability - not that I would want him to go either.

Also where are we going to get an equivalent replacement at a lower price?

So Bikey was going to create or score an extra 10 - 20 goals was he? What does it take to get it through people's thick skulls that defence was not an issue for us last season!

May I remind you he was the reason we lost to Burnley in the first leg.

I thought it was 4, but I'm probably wrong. And the ban was imposed by the English FA, so not sure if they apply to other leagues. Just as if you are sent off in a European match it doesn't affect your home leagues, just the European.

Anyway, yes, it looks likely that if Marseille bid for him he will be off. And who would deny him? Champions League football >>>>>> Championship football I think. Good luck Stephan Andre Bikey, you will be missed by me at least.

Are you serious? Please look at the amount of goals we conceded thanks to Duberry losing his man in the box, backing away or hoofing it aimlessly back to the opposition.

We didn't concede a lot, but the ones we conceded, certainly at home, were largely avoidable.

Bikey will score more, keep possession more and generally be better than anyone we have.
