It should be Ivar. Pearce might not start ahead of Bikey and Ivar.
and if Ivar isn't in the starting XI he'll make a good club captain anyway. Pearce is a bit young for that role.

I voted for Cisse because the poor bloke had no votes and, if two people can vote for Bikey to be captain, it shows that people aren't taking this poll seriously. The idiot would probably get himself sent-off for punching out the opposing captain before kick-off every other week.

I see some people voted for Armstromg as well! I suppose it would, at least, give him an excuse for being out of position!

I voted for him because he's a good solid player who's likely to be there every week.

All this talk about Pearce being a future captain - what about Karacan and Church?
Both have captained their U21 International teams, which means they must have some leadership qualities.

Good Point. Both could be future captains.
and would both definitely be good choices as both have come through the ranks and as you've said do have experience.

Who does "him" refer to Ian?

Are you saying that one of the Bikey votes is yours?

Can't be. Bikey is the least likely to be there very week!

yeah right he can't look after himself let alone the team! Try again, somebody else has got it.

I'm surprised Ivar has won this poll so easily.

SLAMMED I'm surprised Ivar has won this poll so easily.

Its no real surprise, he`s the logical choice, I`d imagine as long as he`s fit that he`ll start every week. The only other candidate is Pearce and he`s not guaranteed a game every week (although I`d like him to play every week) So Ivar it is then.

Other than the player who was captain for most of last year you mean? I don't think Pearce can be a candidate until he's actually spent some time as a first choice centreback for us.

I'm for Ivar.

Always thought he was the vice captain and story has it that he asked Coppell to let Harps do because he was always banging on about how great a captain he'd be etc etc.

Now without doubt Harps is Reading through and through, but captain I think not. IHMO I feel his game suffered from his captaincy. All his sideways moves went out the window as he concentrated on his pointing game.

Ivar is our ice cool icelander who has been our most consistent player for many a year now. Whenever he's missing we miss him dearly' look at last season. A lack of communication at the back, no real leadership. Doobs experience obviously wasn't defending, it must have just been putting a kit on every Saturday August - May.

I like Pearce and see a lot of Ivar in him. I agree that it would be brilliant for Him & the club were he to be captain and I feel that is definately when rather than if. I just think it's 2 soon. Ivar this year and let Pearce learn from him.

We haven't signed anyone yet. Who is to say that a new skip won't be found that way? In between times, give it to Paul Black. Guaranteed ever present.

Dont think it was Harps banging on about it, Ivar just thought it would give him a lift and bring the best out of him

Not sure it worked myself, but I do think Harper is a natural talker and organiser on the pitch
