Royal Lady Presumably if we're paying £2million for this bloke, we didn't think 1.8 million or whatever it was for Smith, was worth it.

purely in terms of age that makes sense to me
though i withhold judgement till i see the details of this"bid" materialise

Apparently Radio Sheffield are reporting that a fee of £2m has been agreed and that he is in talks with us......(obviously i haven't heard it so I am relying on someone else not making that up).

Platypuss Perhaps feasible if it's contingent on Bikey being sold first.

No- 2 million is far too high for a club like us, in debt with wages, etc

Lets get rid of bikey and find someone from the lower leagues whose been free-transferred.

Its all over the Doncaster forums too - saying he is in Reading today having medical etc etc. They are up in arms that it is only 2 million quid - rated very highly.

From the Donny board:

A Northerner wrote:
"He deserves so much better than Reading if he does move though. The lad is good enough to develop into a possible England player (if Wheater can knock on the door!). He could definitly be a defensive rock for a top 8 prem side in the years to come.

I'm surprised someone like Harry Redknapp has been so blind, possibly big team bias?, that'll he'll offer 10m for Sebastien Bassong, whereas 3m for Mills would be a coup. He'd be a perfect understudy to play and learn off of Woodgate, King and Dawson."

Yep, sounds like they're p*ssed off.

And now on BBC

As I posted yesterday we are in talks with him. He was all set to sign for Nottingham forest until we came in. Glad to see my source may come into telling me something decent!

I'm just about ready to blow my load!

This would be a killer deal. We get a highly rated quality centreback. And I get to laud over Jay that we've spent more than he thought we'd spend in total on one player. Just like I said we would, if the right option came along!
