I'd just like to see him used to his full ability, rather than be forced to chase around the top end of the pitch all the time, seeing very little of the ball unless it's flying miles over his head.

Same goes for Hunty.

Old Biscuitman To Bristol Rovers in January. The good turn they did in selling Jamie Cureton to us at a knock-down price is still remembered by both clubs. And for the first time in years Rovers are off to a good start.

I'm not sure they wanted to let him go for a 'knock down price', as there were a lot of rumours about Curo and the chairmans daughter (which may or may not be true) I think they just wanted him out and Curo and us were happy to oblige. Bristol Rovers on loan would be a good move for him if he's not involved with us. They need a striker to replace Ricky Lambert and I think Long will defo get goals at that level.

Not long. Never, ever rated him; just runs around a lot and his first touch is his seventh. He should move on in the next window. I am sure the Shite or the Jerkies would have him.

Oi you knobs, shane long is only 21, he's got loads of ability.
If BR gives him the right chance he'll prove his worth. If not another team will benefit as with our other off-loaded strikers......(tyson, henderson, cox.....)

I loved Coppell for his ability to turn water into wine. A bunch of nobodies and make them punch far above their weight. And then implode!

However even though I didn't like the appointment of BR I think he is more the man to actually improve someone as a player as he has bags of experience at actually building a player up from youth.

If ANYONE can turn Long into a decent player it's BR.

Born Jan 1987. That would make him 22 and a half. He showed just enough last season in the last couple of months, to gain a stay of execution, especially with a new manager coming in. If he hasn't done anything by xmas it's bye bye time.

It's hard on him that we're now playing a system which doesn't suit him and he's back to being 3rd or 4th choice. But that's the way the cookie crumbles, and if he was that good, he'd force himself into contention regardless. But he isn't.
