Losing to Bolton in the Play-Off Final.

Getting relegated from the Premier League.

Losing to Walsall in the 2001 Play-off Final.

Has to be losing in the last minute at Forest to condemn us to my first ever experience of a relegation for me. Not only that, but playing them off the park at the same time. McIntyre missing a sitter in the first half, Fleck missing another early in the 2nd half, McIntyre missing another guilt edged free header soon after, Brayson then hitting the post after 85 minutes, and then the killer blow by Chris Bart-Williams in the 89th minute. Not only that, it promoted Forest as league winners at the same time, and it was 2 days after my birthday as well.

Getting relegated to Division 4 as a result of a blatant push on Terry Bell. One day we will get revenge by winning at Villa Park.

I love that. The bitterness still runs deep.

'He's done well, he's done really well...'

Classic bit of commentary by Moore.

A friend of mine taped the match and I watched it when I got back from Wembley, twice in one day. I am a glutton for punishment...

Robin Friday leaving the club (to join Cardiff).

I knew things would never be the same again (and they haven't).

There have been a few games over the years - yes, both play-off finals were bad.....but for me it was losing the final ever league game at Elm Park against Norwich. Didn't even feel like we put up any kind of fight that day.

We were so bad that season...such a sad way to say goodbye to a place that i have so many good memories of.

Relegation on goal difference.
Second half collapse last season.
Reading the pessimistic comments on HNA?

As a club we also didn't really do the day justice either.

Having said that the hour or so after the game will live long in my memory. It was wonderful spending time strolling round the ground, revisting parts I hadn't been in for ages (the away end !), meeting old faces and chatting as the sun went down. I stayed as long as I could to savor the memories, bittersweet but great that we had the freedom of the ground for those final moments.

Worst ever performance

*xf*rd 3 Reading 0, taxi for terry.....

Where to start so many bad moments all part and parcel of being a Reading Fan i think it makes the wins and successes that much sweeter tho when they come.

Was at Wembley for Bolton but Walsall was probably worst for some reason probably because I expected us to win that day.

I was there and it was like a fairy tale until half time words couldnt describe it and then it all came crashing down. What a day of emotions it brought grown men to tears

Losing 1-0 at home to Swindon for the first home game of Terry Bullivant's reign. I never got over it.

Losing 4-0 at home to Arsenal. Absolute disgrace and I was so gutted about it.

I soon got over the pain. It was a treat. One of my best memories of the Prem tbh.

Isn't it a case of it's so obvious what our ecstatic moments are, whereas the gutting moments are very varied...
