brendywendy coppell 1st,pards second but still hated. He could have taken us there, and all his own work, start to finish.but he oxf*rd it.cnut. Im still bitter.

But it's football it's not marriage, I don't understand why people get brandished a c*nt if you leave a football club, whether you see out your contract or not, it's football and simular to bad marriages, you do get over it

I did sing and jeer Pardew but it's just banter, he isn't a 'c*nt' though, he just left for what was and still is IMO a better club all round.
It's the same as every working situation, anyone would leave for more money and higher ambition? Let it go lol, Jeeesus.

When he left, he didn't do what Mc'ghee did anyway, he didn't enialate our team, we kept our team and in the long run Pards has suffered more, he's now manager of a team bottom of League 1 and fair play to the bloke, I reckon he'll be back one day.

cant argue he's not one of the best managers in our history and we all know we wouldnt of have the "good years" had pards not come along and started things moving in that direction with teh buys of curo, sid, shorey etc. its just the manner in which he left that he'll mosty be rememberd by RFC for. but agreed LOL at his current situation

LoyalRoyalFan What has Alan Pardew done for the club. Mick Gooding and Micky Quinn did more.

LOL @ LoyalRoyalFan - again showing his total lack of knowledge!

Ideal
Deathy Championship champions with a record breaking 106 points and 99 goals scored.
Premier League 8th place finish.

Winner: Steve Coppell.

Royalee oxf*rd off!!

+1!!!!!!!

oxf*rd you, Royalee!!

-1

Fcuk those that start polls like this merely to w@nk over Steve Coppell who, along with his over paid and under and performing squad, is not only the main reason we haven't won at home since January but is also the person who WASTED all the money we no longer have on wages for his favorites.

Rodgers could be sacked at the end of the season but so far he's well on the way to sorting the mess Coppell left behind simply because he couldn't move on from 2005-6.

It was a rather shit poll, to be fair, considering you missed off some successful managers. You had 12 options to use up and you only polled it on 5 :?

Only a retard of the highest order would start a poll to vote for the best manager of a club founded in 1871 yet only provide 5 candidates unless, of course, the options were loaded to produce just one winner in particular.........................Coppell in this case.

Notwithstanding that it is a stupid poll as there would only ever been one winner, who else would you have included? (Bearing in mind the Club had only acheived 1 promotion in the 105 years up to 1976)

You could list the whole lot and Coppell would still win, only by a smaller margin. In that sense the poll is meaningless. We know he's considered the best, and probably will be for a very long time to come.

Except no one is going to vote for managers outside of the last 40 years because so few can remember them, and we were mediocre for most of that period.

Joe Smith, Ted Drake and Billy Butler have very good records, exceptional ones at home, but take a look at the 2nd best manager poll and see how many have voted for them.

Fuktard.

roberto_11 Looking back now I wonder if Pardew regrets that decision, ditching us for West Ham. I mean he did end up winning promotion with West Ham and managing in the Premiersip for a few years with them and Charlton. But his career has gone full circle now. And he could have done what Coppell did.

I think he would have done. Maybe not 106, but definitely promotion and possibly as Champions.

And maybe even in the season he left us.

We wouldn't have stayed up, mind.

I think Pardew's work in turning us from a 3rd to a 2nd tier side is routinely underestimated.

When he left, he didn't do what Mc'ghee did anyway, he didn't enialate our team, we kept our team and in the long run Pards has suffered more, he's now manager of a team bottom of League 1 and fair play to the bloke, I reckon he'll be back one day.

i know, and thats why ive voted him second in my list of managers

i just think he could have achieved so much more here, by building the team from scratch, changing our whole outlook on our football club, taking us up and keeping us there, than he did in his short spell at the mighty west ham.plus we were above them when he went, looking good for some sort of promotion, and him going meant our season nosedived and we were set back a couple of years, plus the promises hed stay etc
thats why hes a cnut.
not just cos he left us.
