Maybe you could produce an ITV3 'documentary' called 'When fans go bad!' with that camp US copper mincing on about car crashes and chases.

This thread has also brought to light the 'thickness' of certain fans.

There's a way to test this, of course.

Stand outside the gates just after the final whistle and watch the crowd spill out of the Madejski. You'll soon rack up a visual and mental 'retardation quotient' just from seeing what spills out of the stadium.

It's like England may have looked when most of the major asylums were closed down and Care in the Community was born.

Just standing on the East Stand concourse before a game brings a tear to my eye, when I see all the mongs walking past me.

But let's face it, you can do similar for the home fans at most grounds. Football following by definition requires the type of personality that sits halfway between aspergers and autism.

I got on a silent bus after the Cardiff game, to see a dozen vacant young-old faces staring at me morosely.

A couple of them made comments on the game ('we're going' down' - 'It's going up on Facebook when I get 'ome: 'madejski out'').

I realised I had raised the average IQ on the bus just by getting on it (and I ain't that clever).

When I ventured the opinion that I enjoyed the Cardif game more than the previous Saturday's borefest against Doncaster, one lad said: 'wouldn't you rather be bored and win?' (overlooking the fact that we hadn't wo nagainst Donny either)

Maguire Kebe is GENIUS.

That is all

In the same way that Norman Wisdom was genius, perhaps. If I wanted to see a comedy act I'd go down to South Street.

Vincent Van Gogh
Eva Cassidy
Billy Holliday
El Greco
Jimmy Kebe

All fated to only have their genius recognised after their death due to close-minded ignoramuses such as yourself.

Come now RL, you know damn well who Focher is after you launched the Birmingham Attack run with both him and General B. I witnessed this personally from the disabled section in the Away End.

Tony Le Mesmer One thing that gets me is fans slagging off the ref shouting "But he won the ball!"

Honestly, there are so many fukwits out there who honestly have no concept of the game whatsoever. They actually think that going into a tackle and touching the ball automatically makes it legit. Even though they might have broken 2 legs in the process. Even some TV pundits say it. Clueless cnts.

Surely, if the player got the ball before touching the player, it's not an illegal tackle?

I rest my case.

Tbf, you never described what kind of tackle we're talking about. If player a slid in with one foot, toe-poked the ball away and player b tripped over the outstretched leg, is that still an illegal tackle?

Spacey, let me help TLM and explain in plain and simple terms. The type of challenge he spoke about would be any that breaks a leg. Any challenge that breaks a leg would result in a free kick given by a competent referee because the challenge would, without doubt, have entailed the use of excessive force, thereby endangering an opponent.

So Gurney's tackle at Bristol City that broke their guy's leg should have been a foul and a penalty?

Injuring a player has nothing at all to do with a challenge being judged a foul or not.

to be fair, you can hardly blame a lot of people considering how clueless so many experts are on tv. Remember the "offside/not offside" debate in Euro 2008, which had Andy Towsend howling "I don't care what referees say the rules say, that's definitely offside."

David Moyes said the other day about a "handball" in the area "even if it wasn't intentional, it hit his arm and stopped a goal, so it has to be a penalty"

As for fans, anyone who says "it's clear he's lost the dressing room" should just be put down.

He hasn't said it yet but it's simply a matter of time...

How often does a player handball it on purpose?

Newman wasn't it? On the lad on loan from Southampton?

Seem to remember it was a 50/50 and the lad got his leg caught under himself. In fact Pardew walked out on the press confrence after because a journo called it a bad tackle.

we’re not far off being a reasonable side

we’ve nearly been a lot more successful

what did people actually expect

we have to give Rodgers as much time as possible
