Dorset-Knob Blimey, the 'real debate' at last! I'm quite well aware of the general situation and the expected responses, reasons, excuses etc. But, when you boil it all down it's like ignoring the 'elephant in the room'

We have come to expect more, this has been encouraged by the club and refelected in higher prices, better facilities and more opportunities for them to dip their corporate hand in the supporters pockets.

That's all well and good when you are doing well, but when the team struggles we are expected to keep schtum and understand, actually I don't feel much like being understanding!

Organic growth, rather than the shit or bust approach would have been nice, we were never promised or sold mediocrity.

If it had been a product I would have exercised my retail rights for a refund!

everyone was well aware of how it was going to be- chairman has ben cutting cloth for 3 seasons now
sold half the prem players last season, the other half this season.
its not hard to have forseen that this season would be a rebuilding job- in fact everyones been saying as such(apart from our football no nothing chairman) we have an entire new team, most of whom are very young, and not deemed good enough for last seasosn push for the top, ive no idea why you thought theyd be good enough to stay up there straight away- the manager only came in with a couple of weeks to go, so it was always going to take a while to assess the kids, and difficult to bring in the players he wanted. yes its been a bit of as slower start than anyone was hoping for, but not that far from what we should realistically expect
if you went into this season, payed your ST price thinking we would walk straight back into the top 4, then you are madder than you lot say BR and JM are
we do have a team good enough to push for the play offs this season, if everything continues to improve, and we sort out this daft home form.
next season, with more young player improvement and a few shrewd buys i feel that we will be well placed for a proper season
if we dont sort it out, and rodgers goes, this season will be a write off, and so will half of next year.

as it is, im relatively happy, think 23 quid a game is very reasonable, and have "enjoyed" the roller coaster of this season so far- as long as we start climbing, instead of plummetting soon, and stay up ill be pretty pleased.
especially with the kids going into next year who are looking very very good IMO

but then im eternally optimistic, and never likely to throw toys, or decide to "not go" any more
cos i like football, i like RFC, i like teh chairman, and i like the manager

just an opinion like.

that said, if we lose 2-0 to blackpool ill be just about considering, maybe, jumping on some sort of rodgers out bandwagon, in a couple of weeks

5-1 home win, they score first, then we start to put away the chances we have been creating.Ian Holloway is sent to the stands by the ref for complaining that Readings players have turned up for the first time, in a home game, this season and that's not fair.

Are we playing tomorrow?

I care so little for this game these days I didn't know England played until the day after, and now this.

Prediction?

Caring even less tomorrow.

Nice to see optimistic posts for the game tomorrow predicting Reading to win.

Although, I wholly disagree with them. We will NOT win tomorrow. I can guarantee that. Although I'm not as sure about the score line. I think 1-1 or 2-1 Blackpool. What I have no doubt about though is that we will not score more than Blackpool.

1 point maximum...!!

Brendy, I agree that expectations should be down; but should they be so far down that we've only had three wins by mid November? I suspect that most of us would have accepted mid-table consolidation this season, but we are entitled to moan when the team has been doing so badly. There is never a time in any division when bottom three is acceptable to fans. Losing, dare I point out the obvious, is failure. However, we are two games unbeaten, so lets hope that continues. I'll be happy with a win or a draw, but, however promising we are, I'll not be looking on the bright side if we lose.

I like your style Brendy, we are according to the table third from bottom, we have lost half of the games we played thus far, we haven't won at home since January.

Statisically we do better when we don't play!

The new, (much vaunted manager, master of youth development and mentor of half the young players at Reading is struggling with a new and unknown, low on confidence young team of whom he knows nothing?) and you say we all knew this was going to be the case.

I didn't, I thought our 'well run club' was expected to do a little better than crap!

If we are set fair for the future, provided we don't plummet, what from third bottom! you are kidding right?

It's not about plummeting, it's about sliding towards oblivion, I hope I'm wrong, but to claim it had to get really bad, before it got better, from where we were pre BR days is frankly laughable!

I'm not sure how you've worked that out. We've picked up zero points when we don't play and 14 points when we do play.

Enough is enough, we are feckin going to win this one convincingly 3-0.

Edited to add:

CERN have just restarted the Large Hadron Collider that broke at the start of last season, I reckon that and Brendy's lucky girlfriend should do it for us!

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet.

Blackpool have started the season well and a draw is all I expect. 1 - 1.

Royal Lady I went for a draw on the Prediction League - I don't want to tempt fate. We HAVE to win some time and as it just so happens to be my birthday - why not Saturday!

probably lose about 3-1 in reality then

What Prediction League? There hasn't been one since the end of the 2007-2008 season has there?
