Sun Tzu Simon Cox played one game in September 2005, I think Ian is right in questioning whether he's a good example of a youth player who made any kind of contribution between the dates mentioned. HRK kas appeared in 18 games....
Hoop Blah There can't really be any doubt that the youth scheme/academy went through some dark days between the days that Barkus, Honey, Holzman and Bass had a fleeting chance of making it up until a few years ago when Cox, Tyson and Ashdown lead the way for the current crop.
The academy just wasn't up to scratch for some reason and didn't turn out players with enough quality or mental strength to make it.
We saw the likes of Haddow, Hadland, Stanley, Allaway, Theo and Freeman look quite good but ultimately fail.
The progress to where we are now, with a very good production line of league footballers (whether with us or elsewhere), is a fantastic achievement and something we really should be proud of.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe I know what readingbedding is up to, but there is no debate about how good our academy is.
Howell, Castle, Boucard, Cambell, Boucard, Rifat. What more can you say?

Reminds me of the famous Sun headline when 2nd Divison Inverness Cally beat Celtic in a cup match:
"Super-Cally-Go-Ballistic-Celtic-Are-Atrocious!"
One of the best headlines ever.

If my memory is correct Inverness beat them twice in 2 seasons
