Federici's girlfriend and family have been quite vocal about his being dropped. Knee injury? Don't buy into it, the club were only trying to protect him while taking him out of the firing line. His and his families reaction is not helping matters. Not surprising though; we've seen this before from him, albeit without the added intrusion of his family and friends.

Just for the record. I don't think she's helping much here.

I saw they called RFC a joke and unloyal, after all we've done for him!!! He's in poor form, he's cost us points, and he needed dropping. he needs to remain professional. This is exactly what he and his idiot family shouldn't be doing.

Macaela is feds girlfriend, stephanie is family. Don't think brian would lie, so probs feds thought he was fit and brian disagreed.

I hope McCarthy settles well and keeps the shirt. Brian needs to stick to his guns now and not do what he did 2 years ago when he caved in and put Feds straight back in once he kicked up a fuss. The team need to know Brian is the manager, not the players. Coppell cocked up at this level for that, and lessons need to be learnt.

I'm amazed at the comments from Federici and his people. If they, and I assume from their reaction they're feeding his comments and/or feelings, don't like the way football works then perhaps they should just f**k off and not reap the rewards of the sport either.

I really hope Brian takes Federici aside and tells him to knuckle down and sort out his attitude as this club has given him a great living and platform to succeed. That's loyalty!

Don't know if it's been mentioned so apologies if it has but Feds house is up for sale since last week? Coincidence?

Big difference between being unhappy about it and letting this kind of criticism creep out.

I'm struggling to think of another example of a Reading player making such feelings public (if he didn't agree with his other halfs tweet he would've surely stopped it or made it clear to her she wasn't to comment).

I would imagine Feds is more embarrassed about it than anyone.

Comments from his girlfriend are a bit daft, comments from the hanger on family are just plain stupid.

One silly tweet can easily get blown out of all proportion and end up all over the media, silly girl!

I don't know if he'd be able to gag his girlfriend or her sister, even if he wanted to. They're not helping him though, gobbing off like that about the club. Inevitably, people think that he shares a similar opinion to them.

I can understand Federici not being happy with the fans singing McCarthy's name a few weeks back. I don't expect him to like being dropped either. But he should respect that it is the manager's decision. He's not helping his cause by contradicting the manager by saying he is not injured. I'm pretty sure Brian is exagerating the injury to protect Federici from the embarrassment of the public knowing he's been dropped, so it seems damn ungrateful TBH.

Still would have Federici in goal myself, when he is fully fit.

You give him too much credit. He commented how cheesed off he was at being dropped on Instagram yesterday before suddenly deleting his message. He's got form for this in the past, I just hope Brian stands his ground now. The last thing you want is the rest of team thinking he's a manager that can be bossed.

I've got to agree with Stephanie there, Reading FC are an absolute joke of a club. They give Federici a contract when every other club in the country turned him down, played him at Old Trafford, made him their first choice goalkeeper, paid him millions of pounds, helped him become an international goalkeeper, and then dropped him! #noloyalty!
