So just conjecture then. Thanks. Phew, I thought I'd missed something real.
No. Not conjecture. More than that, but not hard documentary evidence, which fans are never ever going to have.
Yes, but what is it?
Feel like Paxman trying to get an answer out of Michael Howard.

Ian RoyalExtended-Phenotype Well? SPEAK UP MAN?!
It's all already there. I don't need to add anything.

wingnut Where's the evidence it's performance-related bonuses that's keeping him out of the team? Have you got a copy of his contract?

sandman You won't get the evidence, still waiting for that video of Matt Mills "destroying a supermarket aisle".

Check his Instagram from last season - you will find videos & photos of him & his entourage fcuked & smoking shisha the night before a Reading game.
I was also told by someone who works at the club that Royston was barred from travelling with the matchday squad in April (I believe it was Donny away or Wigan away) as he'd been out on the lash in Liverpool during the week. I posted it on here at the time as it's the one rare occasion where I've actually found anything out.
I have zero connections and am not ITK as it were it was just a chance encounter with someone.
There are none so blind as those who cannot see. He is a bad egg & needs to be moved on.

That's not what I said, but thanks for answering a question with a question. Ftr, it was widely reported that Drenthe himself said that since Anton had vanished we could no longer afford to play him.

It wasn't me that was asserting it was Royston's behaviour that was causing his freeze-out so I don't think I'm oblig8ted to answer the question but I thought it odd to question one assertion and replace it with another. I notice you've not answered mine, btw.

It's clear what his problems are from this article published before he went to Everton, a simple Google search by our erstwhile owner at the time would have found this in seconds but he wanted his "marquee" but only ended up with a tent in his trousers.
Adkins and McD probably knew via the football grapevine. The club can't say anything as it would wipe a couple of million off our assets - it's not like the days of Byron Glasgow when the finances were much, much smaller.
Basically, papers have a way of 'saying' he is a coke head very clearly without actually putting themselves in a libellous position...

Doesn't explain why he has to train with the under-21s though and he has played since January so it seems unlikely to be solely down to "performance related bonuses" as you asserted.Extended-PhenotypewingnutExtended-Phenotype

Soz, in the edit. I think it was around January that Drenthe stated the club couldn't afford to play him and that they wanted him to leave, confirmed by Charles Watts and reported in every newspaper.

E-P All I've heard in any real capacity is that Drenthe is signed to an outlandishly expensive contract with performance based bonuses that we can't afford and along with the fact he hasn't been all that good is spurring the club to drive him out.

Seems like it to me.

wingnut Ok but you are asserting its a factor and I've not seen anything from the club that says they can't afford to pay him. As I said, it also doesn't explain why he has to train with the stiffs.
