MmmMonsterMunch Given tonight's result, I shall be cheering on Cardiff against Swansea though!!

Yep we won't catch Cardiff now unless they go into administration. I reckon they will beat Swansea who like Leicester are really struggling but with the added bonus of a very moderate goal difference.

If we win on Sat & Swans lose then we are 7 pts behind with 2 games in hand. Interesting....

We need Leicester to implode as well so that 2 spots are up for grabs. Their next 2 are WBA & QPR... We'll know once easter weekend is over with whether we have a chance or not I suppose.

Yeah, just a bit too much for us to do now. Not that that it bothers me. IMHO Play-offs this season would be a step too far, and if the incredible were to happen and we went up we would have a torrid time!!! Can't help thinking though, if only we'd had a reasonable start to the season.....

The funny thing is, we really were quite respectable away under Rodgers, and it's what saved us from utter oblivion at midseason

If only we could have done anything useful at home over the first half...er, Rodgers'd still be here, likely as not

So never mind

We beat Ipswich and Swansea and Leicester lose it is DEFINITELY on.

That would be 7 and 6 points behind with two games in hand. Crucial game on Saturday.

Every game is vital if we are to keep these faint dreams alive.

Good result for us last night but still think we'll run out of games :(

It wont be decided this weekend. 4 points from our next two games, would like leave us about 8 points behind with 2 games in hand.

tbf us losing two games in succession is about as likely as any of the others losing three

Victor Meldrew Nobody seems to be considering Blackpool.
At the moment they have played 2 games more than us but are 5 points ahead with a goal difference 14 better.
Their fixtures are:-
Scunthorpe (A)
Doncaster (H)
Newcastle (A)
Notts Forest (H)
Peterboro (A)
Bristol City (H)
In the reverse fixtures they have won 4 drawn 1 and lost just 1.
Factor in Newcastle already promoted and Peterboro already relegated I can see them finishing close to or actually in a play-off spot.

Now they have played 3 more than us but are 8 points ahead with a goal difference now 16 better.
Also they have 3 home and just 2 away to play.

I reckon we'll finish on about 64 points and more or less where we are now in the table (which is roughly where I said we'd be at the start of the season).

Annoying though that our home form - 1 league win at home between end of Jan 2009 and end of Jan 2010 - is what has really screwed our season up.

Anyway, well done to everyone at the club for giving us something hopeful to play for into early April - we'd have all taken mid table non descriptness at the turn of the year.

I genuinely think Leicester will screw it up now & so will Swansea if they lose to Cardiff. I expect Blackpool to take 5th & A.N. Other to get 6th.

This weekend does decide it for us IMO. To be in the mix & have less pressure on the Newcastle game I really believe we need 6 points from Ipswich & Cov.

Watford will be fighting for their lives, Newcastle want the title & Posh will have no pressure as they're already down so they will be hard games. These next 2 games are the most winnable out of the lot IMO.

Have to agree with most of this prognosis. Mind you, if we can cream the next two games I reckon our confidence and momentum will make us a proposition to be reckoned with for the run in. Regardless of the opposition.

To take the pressure off it's all about mid table security and a cosy run in. However,we all know that behind the scenes the players and coaching staff will be working their nuts off. Even if it's no longer possible 'the life of Brian' will still want the lads to prove a point in preparation for next season.

Whatever happens it's been an amazing turnaround. Can't believe we still have a chance to do it given where we were 2 mths ago.

GD is an issue though so more than likely we'll need to be ahead on pts to do it. Lets hope we can dish out a tonking tomorrow.

But the important thing is that it's now entirely down to us, for the fist time since we started thinking about the play-offs.

9 points behind Leicester with 3 games in hand, and yes, with an inferior goal-difference - but the key thing is that we're now not depending on anyone else.
