andrew1957 I still fully expect Dai to crash the deal at the last second and then irrevocably close the club just to spite us all.

That would be very expensive for Dai. He might be an utter spaz, but he isn't going to throw money away like that. There were murmurings last week the hold up may be stadium related. Certainly more plausible than the Hotel, which neither Dai or RFC own, so shouldn't come into the equation at all. It'll get done; one way or another; it's just bloody frustrating for those of us who care about this club.

Dai does own the stadium as far as I know, it's just in a different holding company to the rest of the club.

My concern is that according to Tim Dellor's tweet the hold up is at Dai's end. Let's hope Dai is less of a loon than he has appeared to be for the last N years.

Tim Dellor - New bestie. Rob Couhig tells me the deal should be announced on Tues or Weds. “From my side it’s all done. I’m just waiting for the other side to approve it all”.

Somethings clearly not gone quite to plan this week, but fingers crossed won’t end in tears. Pretty essential to get done in time for a few new players though given our paper thin squad.

Remember that Reading remain under a transfer embargo and cannot sign players for a transfer or loan fee, including wage contributions for temporary additions. Last pickings of free transfers is about as good as it gets.

Is it time to change the title of this thread yet again Brogue? it`s well and truly sickening.
Last Saturday it was a done deal, nearly a week later fuck all, when will it ever end?

Who owns the women's team now, is it still part of the club and therefore subject to same saga that we have to suffer for the men's team? If the latter then how come they can make new signings?

Good point but at that level they are not even paid and are expected to pay subs like you do with a park team....may be the reason

Wonder if Couhig will attend the Charlton game if we don`t get it over the line before next week?

The women's set up does not fall under the remit of the EFL. It is the EFL who have inflicted the embargo on us.

As you also point out, the costs of the women's team are negligible although I didn't think it had quite reached the point where the players have to pay subs.

My fear is that the title will end up reading: 'Takeover all but f*cked'

We all know that Dai has a lot of issues and has largely been barely contactable by anyone at the club for the best part of 18 months.

It'll just be waiting for him to sign off and he won't be answering the phone or emails.

At this point it will happen, just when he can be arsed to do something about it.

It’ll 100% happen and Dai is just being a twat till the end. I don’t care if it happens after the transfer window closes as long as we don’t lose anymore players. All that’s important is no more Dai.

Yep, signings are nice to have, not essential. This squad has enough to stay up this year's and kick on properly next season. Just get Dai gone.

Dim Tim has said there`s an hitch holding up proceeding but doesn`t know what, in other words he`s guessing.

Umm, you’ve literally just said he doesn’t know what is holding it up so actually he hasn’t guessed at all.
