SCIAG Barrett - potential mindset issues

What's that referring to??

Isn't he more a midfielder, or is that just splitting hairs?

this is what pisses me off about a lot of the whingers:

why is vydra playing?
weve got no other strikers
what about rakels/kermorgant?
they've been injured/off for personal reasons
what about the kids?
all the good ones are out on loan
yeah, but...what about shitter younger kids?
erm....

Well at least you've given up peddling the myth that playing Vydra saves us money.
But now you're back to the bonkers assumption that we have to play more than one striker.

Presumably a new rule was temporarily introduced for the Hull game that meant we were forced to play three strikers?

SCIAG FWIW, our young forwards (using that term loosely):

Samuel - loan
Liburd - loan
Tanner - loan
Fosu - winger/loan
Stacey - winger/loan
Novakovich - injured
Kelly - loan
Sheppard - loan
Barrett - potential mindset issues
Cardwell, Smith - not ready
Others - very unready

If Nova and Liburd and Samuel were being kept out by the current forwards then I think we could be justifiably a little miffed.

When interviewed recently McDermott said he would not recall Samuel because he wants him to be starting games and he'd hate to see him sat on the bench.

i.e. Current forwards are ahead of Samuel!

Liburd's loan was extended two weeks ago. Are you trying to tell us that McDermott signed off on the extension despite wanting to start him in the 1st team? Seriously?

How fcuked up is that?

You know that Vydra is a hero at Watford. His total loss of form in front of goal with Reading is completely unfathomable.

If you don't think its for contractual reasons, and you don't think its because he's the best option available, why DO you think Brian plays Vydra?

Because he thinks he's a managerial visionary who'd dispense with the lunacy of having a keeper on the bench and win endless success. And that Brian is a cretin that doesn't know what he's doing.

I think its pretty fathomable

shit hot forward wins promotion to the prem, and is unceremoniously dumped back to the championship by his club, th4en spends the season unsurprisingly mentally shot.

it just goes to show that he is weak in the head, but its perfectly fathomable

He thinks a lot of himself (somewhat justifiably) and sometimes sulks when things don't go his way. Not always pleasant to referees. Didn't mean to confuse anyone, just didn't want to outright say "he's a bit of a dick". (and for once that's actually itk)

I'd say he's a midfielder in the same sense that Cox and Blackman are. Certainly one you could argue is competing with Vydra for a place.

P!ssed Off When interviewed recently McDermott said he would not recall Samuel because he wants him to be starting games and he'd hate to see him sat on the bench.

No, I meant more that if they were sitting on the bench or in the U21s then we could maybe say "hang on". Going out on loan might benefit them more than playing in the first team. I don't think so personally but I think that's a perfectly reasonable course for Brian to take (particularly with Liburd apparently not doing too well).

But yeah, it's disappointing if McDermott thinks that Cox is a better option for the start of next season.

Potential mindset issues  Perhaps dropping Vydra on similar grounds would be fair :?:

So the RFC Stockholm Syndrome Collective has poo-pooed the assertion that youngsters can't be used in these dead rubbers because they are all out on loan.....apart from those who aren't or those who are apparently deemed unready or very unready :|

Clearly Brian and I have a differing viewpoint on who the best option available is.
Not massively complicated.

So come on then floyd, who would you have rather played in the few games since the start of Feb that McDermott has started Vydra.

It's worth noting that Vdyra has only started 5 games since the 0-0 away to Wolves on the 6th Feb (partly through injury, partly through being dropped by McDermott).

How many outfield players have appeared in each of the last 8 games?
1.
Vydra.

But yeah, you're right, McDermott's actually dropped him because he's only started five of those eight and didn't play when he was injured prior to that...

anyway......why would you think he thinks that?

hes an option that's here now, and needs to be looked at before a decision is made on his future.
We know Samuels is an option, and also know hes gaining huge experience and enjoying himself out on loan.
so.....
