melonhead i do hate the idea you can be booked for a foul without touching someone, and its stuff like that that encourages the divers, and complic8s the whole issue even more

Had this argument on the pitch with a ref once. I lunged for and won the ball, but my opponent saw me coming and basically dived over my out-stretched leg. There was no contact, but the referee blew for a foul saying that my opponent had to take evasive action.

For me if you want a foul on the pitch you should have to take the contact.

Unless it's two footed or a kung fu kick or something genuinely requiring an evasive action, then you should have to take a hit to get a free kick.

melonhead :| thats just daft.

it was a free kick. the bloke pulled him back, and trod on his foot.
thats actual injustice, not the sarcastic stuff.

He's being a cheeky oxf*rd.
'He touched my arm/foot so I'm going to fall on the floor and refuse to carry on until I get my freekick.'
Not quite as bad as the oxf*rds who fall on the floor and grab the ball so nobody else can even play until they get their freekick.

melonhead it wasnt the arm pull, it was the bloke treading on his foot that made him go down, and turn round asking for the foul

Strange you should claim that because if you look carefully at the video footage you will see Pog turn to the ref and pull at his own sleave/upper arm to indicate that he was unhappy that he was being pulled back. That having been said, contrary to what the Sky idiots said, I do agree that one of their two players also stepped on his foot.

RB is correct though. Both happened, maybe he was just highlighting one of the infringements committed against him. Poor man.

Someone should have told yesterday's idiot ref that. He clearly set out feeling that he needed to do something to become the star of the show and get as many boos as possible. Good job the panto season will soon be here because Mr Scott's talents are clearly more suited to him being the villain of the piece.

Mind you, until Ulloa was sent off, Pearce kept getting loads of shouts of 'He's behind you!' from the crowd. :(

Just seen the "highlights".

Red card looked as ridiculous as it did at the game.

I know what you're saying but a high foot is always considered dangerous these days, whether intentional foul play or not.

Joking aside, I wouldn't actually have sent the Brighton player off but he was a total idiot to do that - ref was under massive pressure to make up for the 'tarded dismissal of Pogrebnyak.

It`s only one game, but his all round game both today and last week before his dismissal is spot on
