Yeah, don't get me wrong, I think he's a lovely bloke and he's been fantastic and done wonders - but we just need someone who has a bit more nouse. Who that will be, gawd knows but as I mentioned this morning, maybe even getting in a new coach to work with Brian might be helpful - I don't know that McD and Gibbs are a dream team. Some of our set play is atrocious.

Platypuss
leicsRoyal BM worked wonders last season but we really really need something else now.

A manager with Prem experience who is not afraid to tell the owners to get the chequebook out!

Who then?

I propose a three pronged attack

Sven to get the checkbook flowing
McCarthy to put a bit of fire in the belly
Redknapp to hide the impending black hole in an offshore account under the name of Scruffy.

5 - Reading are the first ever team in the either the League Cup or FA Cup to score five goals and lose the game. History.

For all you out there who ridiculed me for criticising Reading's performance at home to Burnley, you can all go and do one. This season is going to be a disaster because the players at the club are not good enough and the style of play belongs more in the Stone Age than modern age. QPR away this weekend? Looks like that game will define the season. Reading lose and you may as well pack your bags. Win and there is a chance, albeit a slight one, of survival.

Ups and Downs Would rather have lost 7-0.

Because at least that shows we were battered for 90 minutes. Not winning for most of it and then surrendered it because we don't have not just the quality, but the tactics or formation or even just the fukking energy to hold it out.

Any team with Gunter, Morrison, HRK, Tabb can fukk off!

Cripple Creek What a pathetic bunch of childish losers some people are on here. I've been supporting RFC for 38 years and I am as disappointed as anyone but anyone who can't take it - without resorting to writing crap like the above - should either grow up or shut up.

Fukk off, you pcunt!

This is horrible.

Really feel for the bloke, but maybe it's kinder for all concerned to make the break now.

His fault. He changed it.theres not a midfielder of any sort of top level quality in this side and that is McDermotts fault and his fault alone.

You might as well stick a fork in this season. This was a soul crushing, embarassing, humiliating, morale destroying loss. We will not have a lead this season which I will believe is safe, nor will this group of players. We might take a run at Derby's record for least points in a PL season. There isn't one team in the PL I believe we can beat. We couldn't hold a 4 f-cking goal lead to Arsenal's "B" team. I don't care about the bad calls either. Why? WE HAD A 4 F-CKING NOTHING LEAD!!!! THE REF DIDN'T BEAT US WE WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN A GAME WHERE WE WERE GIFTED A 4-0 ADVANTAGE!!!

i love mcdermott for everything he had done here at reading, last season specifically. we just dont have time for him to learn how to manage in the premier league, he seems to be lacking, and out of his element. i love him to death but this is not a good situation that we are in. anton looked extremely unhappy and im afraid for his job.
