Why? It's a valid point.

Also - if Blackman wasn't that good and somebody could have come in and done an equally good job, why didn't they?

It's all conjecture of course. I just don't get this attitude of "He's gone, he wasn't that good anyway". Especially as he's been one of Reading's better players this season.

I will take mark twain's advice to never argue with a stupid person (aka you), as they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience

Ok - so to clarify. You're saying Real would be as good or better without Ronaldo. Barca would be as good or better without Messi. Never argue with a stupid person indeed.

Well. Let's see if I'm correct. About half a season to go. If Blackman's replacement comes in and does better I'll take back everything I said.

You've got the wrong end of the stick here Brendy.

I'm saying Reading will miss Blackman's contribution to the team in terms of goals and assists. Other people on here are saying he won't be missed. So of course his replacement has to do better to prove me wrong.

Those players give those teams an extra "edge" - Blackman didn't really do that for us, as really all he did was score 11 goals. You can't say "where would you be without his goals" as Clarke would have gone out and found someone to be our 25 goals a season man, he didn't need to as he saw enough in Blackman in the summer to believe in him.

So yeah if you just physically just remove him and his goals we would be lower however if you replaced him with someone else just as capable we could be higher and they could have more goals than what he got.

How do you know that if Blackman was still in the team he'd be scoring the goals that someone else isn't?

eh?

So if we finish above 12th will you admit you're wrong and apologise to everyone?

Blackman's contribution may have got you above 12th if the likes of Al-Hasbi or Bond didn't throw it in the net every few games.
