Wycombe Royal
Sun Tzu You may imagine that the appeal has caused problems with our planning for the Cardiff game

Is McD putting Zuba and Pearce through the defensive drills in anticipation of Mills losing his appeal ? Or is Mills the one standing alongside the Bentley driving, prematurely balding Georgian in the hope that clemency is shown ?

They didn't avoid the problem by appealing, they just shifted it a little to the right....

And in fact they made it worse becasue who are they lining up as bench cover for central defence ? Is Bryn going to be the man, in which case we need extra midfield cover , or might they promote one of the youngsters ?

It's a squad game and all the players know there jobs. We saw on Monday that the changes can be made seemlessly. Whether they are good enough to do the job is another thing.....

Thanks, that's what I said earlier !!

Isnt Mills suspended regardless?

The best we can hope for is for it to be downgraded to a Yellow, which will take him to 10 bookings.

I don't think they downgrade the card, it can either be left as a red or overturned completely........

Red cards do not get downgraded if it is proven to not be worthy of a Red it will be rescinded...

seemed ok for the whole second half.

i think alot of the crap thats thrown his way is unwarranted. he made some mistakes when playing in a totally unsettled back four, mostly playing alongside another CB with no pace, while the whole team was playing shit and all over the place, under a mentalist manager who put too much pressure and expectation on his shoulders
under McD, and alongside mills/kish he'll be fine

& id rather have cisse than brynn personally

Matt Mills said “I didn’t catch him in any way. I just slid into him after the ball had gone.”

Do you see a slight contradiction there, Matt?

Nothing on the FA website yet - although they have charged Roberto Martinez with improper conduct today so expect them to make a decision soon (well, as soon as the FA do anything).

Given his track record, I think McD could probably turn Alex Pearce into the next Bobby Moore.

He was outjumped by an opposition central defender who is 2 inches taller than him. It happens.

[/pessimistic mode on]
Allowing Mills to play against Coventry got us safely to 55 points and guarantees us Championship football next year. The alternative might have been us trying to get something from the last few games as we go into freefall without Mills playing
[/pessimistic mode off]

I've no doubt the appeal will fail, and we'll have to suffer Pearce for the run in but who cares he may surprise us all.

Don't tar us all with your views.

Some of us won't be in the least surprised if Pearce performs perfectly well. Just as we weren't surprised when McAnuff did well here, or Hunt scored goals last season, or Karacan performed well, or Church has scored goals, or Kebe proved the abuse he got from the likes of strap was totally unfounded...
