The EFL must be incandescent with rage after giving Couhig the all clear. but they started all this 7 years ago.

I just don`t see any way out of this now and no amount of pitch invasions will ever change that, 153 years of history wiped out just like that.

Stranded And that's me officially done with this process.

I'm going to avoid Reading Twitter like the plague and just get on with life - been getting a lot more involved in rugby over here of late, so can see a lot of my focus being on that and whilst I'm not walking away, the number of fcuks I now have are zero and my interactions with the club will be purely based on matches.

What will be will be - I'll naturally be happy if this ever gets sorted but I'm accepting the negative view until shown otherwise.

Yep
Same for me

And for me, my attention is on Brackley Town and my local cricket club, plus watching cricket (which luckily enough is on somewhere around the world pretty much all the time)

Silver linings for the straws I'm clutching, but stranded has been admirably relentless at looking at the positives for about 4 years of utter awfulness, so now he's given up maybe it'll quickly become sunlit uplands and good news.

I think we can expect a mass exodus in January, if we make it that long, and without a deal beijg completed.

Firstly, to fund finishing the season, and secondly I can't imagine any of the players or staff are willing to put up with this any longer.

I would think mass transfer requests will be landing on the managers (whoever that may be) desk in the coming months and will all be granted to try and get us through till May.

Who would have thought it would come to this? gutted doesn`t even come close.

Yep, I feel the same.

I wonder how Dai came up with the funds to pay back Couhig.

What use are either of those without the club. The stadium can only be used for football as it's an asset of community value. So it's worthless to him. Even if he did tried selling it to property developers the fans have the first dibs in buying it.

Training ground might go but who'd buy it? it's unlikely to get planning permission for housing

A few months ago I might have agreed ( re Bearwood ) but with the current Labour clowns in office it will very likely get built on. Should never have moved from Elm Park.
Reap what you sow.

That would thankfully mean Labour would never get an MP in Wokingham

When I posted this two weeks ago in good faith I got slaughtered on here by many , I was called every name under the sun, worst being a Wycombe fan , to all those those who slaughtered me, have a good day

Just looked back and no you weren't. I think you're being a tad sensitive.

Agree on here but the post was copied on various Social media platforms where got pelters but to be fair not unexpected, just pleased my story has been vindicated

I'm glad it works both ways - seems we're always discussing on here "what some bloke said on twitter".

Maybe there's life in the old dog yet.

It's times like these I wish we had a supporters' trust at Reading with direct links to Nigel Howe. Maybe then we'd get some answers.

Layman here and maybe not wholly up to date - if Dai's assets have been seized, and paying players and staff was dependent on Dai making a monthly deposit, how do players and staff now get paid?

Club Statement

Reading Football Club would like to provide an update on the sale of the Club.

Over recent weeks and months, Mr Dai and his representatives have been in exclusive dialogue with a potential purchaser. Despite lengthy and complex negotiations, the parties have been unable to find an agreement. This exclusivity period has now expired, and the Club will pursue alternative options.

The Club acknowledges and appreciates the financial support provided by the potential purchaser during recent months. All loans have now been paid back to the potential purchaser in full along with the accrued interest.

Whilst an agreement was not found on this occasion, Mr Dai remains committed to the sale of Reading Football Club and provisions are in place to fund the Club until a transaction is completed.

The Club would like to thank all stakeholders, especially its staff and supporters, for their continued patience and will communicate further updates once appropriate.

Think the story of his assets being seized is bollocks. He has paid off Couhig's loans. We've speculated all the year whether his lack of funding in circumstance or choice. Now we know.

I used to be ITK.
But then they changed what ITK was.
And now what I know isn't ITK.
And what's ITK seems weird and scary to me.
And it'll happen . . . . to. . . . YOU!
