brendywendy and LOL at SC being 2nd best

I'm not having a go

so why did you have to make the point and disagree with a comment you now seem to agree with? :|

We (the fans) seem to have accepted relegation with barely a fuss. The club hardly fought against it.

I'm glad we've not turned on our club like Birmingham, a club I wouldn't consider as that much bigger than us an utterly deluded with grandeur - but something about all this is making me very uneasy - maybe I just don't like accepting failure. We do seem to have meekly accepted second best here - let's hope this attitude peters out when the next season starts? When the bread and butter of actually winning games again starts.

And yes, again, continuity is a good thing and required while the fallout of this season is cleared away.

jeez, u could have an argument in a paper bag

my point is, yes he took us down, but i still believe hes perfect for our club going forward, as in the No1 option, as in not No2

apologies, for giving the impression i was getting narky at all
you are of course always correct, as demonstrated on numerous occasions over this season

It's not a failure, yet.

It's a set-back on the clubs development, but maybe even not that bad of one.

It will only be a failure if the club don't give a good go at promotion next season.

which was kind of my point. It is a failure. Our aim this season was to avoid relegation, get to 40 points then see where we were. We failed.

The extent of the damage done is down to how willing we are to learn from it. The best person to do that is, undoubtedly, Steve Coppell.

You wish!

I went for a walk earlier (i bought a George Bush mask and considered wearing it - i won't though) and i wished i'd made flyers to hand out to the people playing footy in the park. I can't wait. This'll be cool.

I was thinking more in the grand scheme of club development than this specific season. You are right, this season was a failure. In the bigger picture it's a set-back. Considering all the success we've had, way above our station considering how it came about, Steve Coppell deserves another crack at the whip. If he wants it.

A big problem with football these days is short-termism. I feel Steve Coppell is the best man for the job at Reading by far. This relegation will hopefully make him a better manager, don't be too loyal to players hoping they'll turn it round etc. Learn from the mistake Steve, get us back in the premiership take us forward.

Someone is bringing a football, probably should bring some other things to do too if possible.

50 people turn up feeling great about themselves to stand in a car parking space with not a lot to do. I'd suggest getting some hookers in
