I can't believe what I am hearing. The man has NO experience and we got a POINT against a crap side. Anyone would think we've gone up to old trafford and won 2-0. One game means nothing.

I do not want mcdermott. I want someone who will be long term with a proven track record. That would be ferguson or curbishly. Before anyone says " we can't afford those" if not, the question has to be asked where the fvck did two years of prem money go because we sure as hell didn't invest in the team significantly, yet, we somehow find ourselves cash strapped? Its like some sort of sick joke. I won't be renewing next season unless the club puts our money where their mouth is. We need a striker in January and anything less again is insulting the fans.

It's a question that has been conclusively answered many times before.

McDermott's in place and gets to stay there barring an exceptional candidate or poor performances.

Bristol City are ninth, ahead of QPR. They're not crap, we made them look very ordinary through high-tempo, classy football. He will, and should get the job if that carries on for the next 3 or 4 games.

If he does well over the next few games and gets a proper contract you've got to start asking the question: Why didn't he get it in the summer over Mr Brendan "Glossy tactics folder, flashy presentation, shit results" Rodgers.

Gareth Southgate's agent is a guy called Alan Smith, who apparently has very good relationships with the Reading board, so I would expect his name to have been thrown into the mix.

Therefore I'm backing the perm manager to be one of Southgate or McDermott.

I'd rather have Ronald McDonald in charge than Southgate, at least he'd be a laugh in interviews.

Derby County for promotion
Rogers the man for Reading
Coppell is sh1te
etc etc

Mean I care very little who you would like for manager.

For what it's worth, the Boro fans I know were never completely convinced by Southgate, but he always came across to me as someone of integrity and honesty, and that would be a refreshing change after the bullsh1t we've put up with from the previous incumbent.

They have been crap for weeks ask any city fan, their form is amongst the lowest in the division. True to form, we failed to win. Just like rodgers teams performance against scunthorpe the week before. Nothings changed.

It makes no difference to me who the club appoint anymore. The problem is not the manager its the board and chairman. Until they are gone I probably won't be renewing my season ticket ( queue a load of tiresome " fvck off then" responses) . Rodgers was a poor manager but the clubs poor management started long before he got the job and he took the brunt of it. Mcdermott is another yes man and is exactly what the board want. They must think the clubs fans are stupid, unfortunately most of them are and will accept being spoon fed crap.

Oh and look how boro have done since southgate left, setting the world alight aren't they?

Strikes me as an honest clogger of a manager. I wasn't keen on Coppell when he first came here, so I could live with Southgate, but I'm currently sitting on the incumbants bandwagon.

I like many others would love someone with experience like Curbs to come in, but just can't see either him wanting the job or us paying what it would take to get him in.

After that I see that list as a much of a muchness - a lot of managers with someone to prove, and less than perfect CVs.

Southgate at least is a name, which may help attract a slightly higher quality of player, along with a bit of a PR lift for the club.

To be honest I'm happy to give McDermott 3 or 4 games to prove he's up to the task.

Burns was supposed to do that when he came in. We need substance, not PR.

Rodgers carried substance behind his media talk, but we'll never know either way now whether we'd have improved after Thorvaldsson and other attacking options could have been brought in in January.

Regardless, I'd give McDermott the next 2 games to see how he does. I don't mind him taking over if he does reasonably well, but if he goes too direct and changes it too much then I'd prefer Ferguson. None of this matters if Madejski doesn't allow us to sort out attacking options out though - we could have a management team of Sir Alex, Mourinho, Capello and Ancelloti in charge and we still wouldn't score goals with Shane Long up front.

PEARCEY I'd also add Bryan Flynn into the equation. Did a brilliant job saving Swansea from certain Non League football. Did a terrific job at Wrexham. Now doing a brilliant job with the Welsh Under 21's. A very very under-rated manager who gets his teams playing on the deck. He won't get the job of course but its a shame he's not even worth considering.

That's fantastic - our most successful manager has been our shortest. Appoint Flynn (who is definitely shorter) and Champions League here we come. 8)

Not often and Mr Flynn is certainly on the tinier side of small...he even makes me look quite tall. 8)

Betting on our next manager is suspended across all betting sites - its either Ferguson or BM, and seeing as BM's been in charge one game I expect Ferguson to be announced either Monday or Tuesday.
