Z175 I htink it was a combination of desperately needing the money and him wnating to go.

Obviously Hoffenheim and their billionnaire accounting software backer can pretty much tell the sig to name his price - they must lose 10s of millions each year anyway.

arent there stringent financial controls to stop clubs operating with such defecits in german fussball?

Indeed, but as ever with legislation there are loopholes and Hoffenheim certainly like to test the rules. Let's put it that way.

PEARCEY Dodgy argument Zac. With the player sales that have taken place this summer the club will now have a surplus. Its also highly unlikely all the transfer money will be invested in the squad.

McD is pretty clear they are looking to bring in 1 or more in the loan window so thats rubbish- the rest will go towards plugging next seasons black hole.

these are the realities of our football club, moan all you like, rage against the management, it wont change the fact that until more people come to watch, and / or we have a squad made up by academy starlets in the majority then we will always lose money at this level

We were losing money at this level in 2005 and were not getting multi millions in incoming transfer fees yet more money was being made available then than now. Whats changed?...and LOL saying its rubbish to suggest the club will now have a surplus. Of course it will. The £4 million black hole has been more than filled in with player transfers over the summer. The club must very clearly be in the black at the moment.

We've now been there and done that and SJM won't/can't fund it anymore.
