Nice post. My Dad is too ill to make it to Wembley and after 70 years of following Reading through thick and thin would appreciate a day like this more than most. However he'll be there in spirit just like your Dad. Enjoy the day and give them a shout for him..........

My father-in-law was a loyal Royal and he died in April 1995, shortly before the play-off final at Wembley so I empathise.

I hope this time a Reading win will be a comfort for you, though nothing will take away the pain of loss...........except time.

At the end of the Leicester game in the 106 year, I rang him and simply held my phone up in the air so he could hear the celebrations and general melee as that was the next best thing to him being there.

Did just the same thing for my old man, happily he is still very much with us and will be at Wembley. Great post AB, bet that your dad is as proud of you as he is of his team.
