We must watch a different player each week. The Stevenage match said it all about how much we need Karacan. Without him we were very poor.

He has grown into such a key part of our squad and one day will go a PL club for many millions of pounds if we don’t get promoted first.

He has astounding energy, his passing has come on in leaps and bounds this season and he is now looking to get forward more (and I think will score more goals as this season goes on).

He constantly bosses midfield and creates space for our more creative players.

He would be the first name on my team sheet every week.

winchester_royal Not only was that statement totally wrong, but also an incorrect use of the word 'banal'.

By the way it can mean inanely stupid to the point of being essentially pointless in itself. Such as "Commenting on words and grammar in a football related post is a banal appendage to an unsubstantiated comment."

I assume your name is not because you attended a well known school where you may have been taught English.

Banal means 'boring' or 'unoriginal'. Perhaps it can mean something else, but those are its most common meanings, therefore using it in another way is counter-productive.

And I could have, but decided to go to one of their rivals in the berkshire area, mainly so that I could get to RFC games in midweek.

Jem's a good player but I think this and next season will define what we will see from him. He has improved in most departments this season, but his first touch is where he lets himself down IMO.

The number of times he has lost possession from throw-ons is really frustrating, whether he tries to take it down or tries to play it back first time, he seems to lose it too often. I think a little more composure, which hopefully he will improve as he gains more experience and he could be a top, top draw player for us or, should he move on, whoever he ends up with in the future. No denying his engine and commitment, and he's definitely one of my favourite players at the moment for that. Just needs that little bit extra and I think we'll have a really good, goal scoring midfielder.
